NAS DSM 7 and Plex

I have a shared folder on my NAS for each Plex section:

  1. /volume1/movies = “Movies”
  2. /volume1/uhd = “2160p UHD Movies”
  3. /volume1/3d = “3D movies”
  4. /volume1/tv = “Television”
  5. /volume1/music = “Music”

Store them this way ^^

Each is a Shared Folder.
Plex uses the shared folder when you create the Library section.

Many thanks to the @ChuckPa team
We already have Plex for 32bits, a great job.

To folks following here:

  1. please read the release notes in the preview thread just above the download links. ( I actually wrote some this time – haha )

  2. All binaries are available.

  3. More languages added

  4. Plex claim token support tweaked (just a nudge)

== Status ===

  1. Finalizing this work – it will be v 1.0.0
  2. Plans for v 1.1.0 already laid out. ( Just need this to bake and stay dry a bit )

Hi, @ChuckPa - not an issue (yet),

I have Plex v3906 installed on DSM7 Ok
I have a new Synology NAS arriving soon, on which I also plan to run DSM7 & Plex
So, I want to transfer my Plex setup to the new NAS (with no Media), and
then copy the Plex media over later

What’s the best way to do this ?

@Tom_Hall_1

I have not yet solved for how to do this in the GUI interface.
I could give you a Scheduled Task script to take from one DSM 7 to another DSM 7.

Solving this for the GUI is what I’m working on now. I need help from Synology.

Hi @ChuckPa

Thanks for the offer

I will certainly try your scheduled task method if I can get my new Nas ready before You & Synology work out how to do it in the GUI

I will caution you –

Get your media in place first.
If you startup Plex before the media is there – and – you’ve forgotten to turn off the scanning, POOF, all your history and metadata will be gone.

Hi @ChuckPa -

I’m not too worried about loosing history
I was planning to reorganise & consolidate my Plex media folders (on disk, the folders are an inconsistent historical mess), then start afresh with an empty Plex, and manually re-setup libraries and copy across my media folders

If not worried about losing history then I have one recommendation:

Start Fresh

Is there new Beta version fro DSM7?
the last one I found PMS 1.21.1.3906-7000 posted link on this forum is DSM 7 - Plex Media Server forum preview - Plex Media Server / NAS & Devices - Plex Forum

but as I see the non beta already have version 1.21.2.3918-e47113e83 but it is not working with DMS 7, getting error, incorrect package.
