Is automatic EPG refresh enabled in scheduled tasks in server settings ? As from 1.18.0.1906 it should happen daily. If not, when was the last time you refreshed the guide manually before this screenshot was taken
May be there was an update to the guide that was not picked up?
I have just setup a DVR with your zip code and lineup and selecting channel 5.1 NBC5HD and the 17th October episode is E274
This appears to agree with a channel schedule that I found here
Lets wait until after the current maintenance period ends and do a full guide refresh and get me screenshots of next episodes and link or screenshot to channel schedule
The tvdb is not used by our EPG provider as the definitive source of info for episode numbers.
If this is causing a problem, please let me know. I did reply earlier to say that I found a channel listing which showed 17th October as being E274 and that is the number in the guide. The tvdb is different - if this discrepancy causes a real issue - let me know and tell me what the impact is
So long as recordings are not being lost then it should not matter

This is now resolved. The series has been re-sequenced as per the episode numbers on thetvdb
I just checked the next airings and they appear ok
2019 E286 for 21 October
2019 E287 for 22 October
sequenced up to 26 October
I expect the others to get sequenced closer to the dates
There is now a nightly full guide refresh as part of scheduled tasks (since version 1.18.0.1906 of Plex Media Server) so data updates should get picked up
Let me know if you spot any that do not correct themselves before the airing date

This issue appears to be resolved now and has fingers crossed been working for two days now 
Seems to have happened again starting on November 17th:
On 11/16, Episode #312, Plex recording & TVDB agree
On 11/17, No recording
On 11/18, Plex recodes and labels the Episode #314, but according to TheTVDB Episode #313 aired on 11/18, so Plex gives the 11/18 recording the metadata for the 11/19, and from here on all episode numbers seem to be shifted. For example, I just watched today’s airing (11/29) which was labeled #355 “Monday 11/30”.
How/can this be prevented in the future?
Still a problem. . S2020E79, recorded march 19th. but recording labeled as Mar 23rd! so apparently I am watching NBC Nightly News from the future.
edit: This appears to match TheTVDB info… E79 is indeed labeled as Mar 23… So whats going on here?
