Ok so we will try this again If somebody sees this would you reach out please:
When trying to Play Extras or Trailers Getting C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Plex Transcoder.exe’ exit code for process 4556 is 1 (failure) In the Consol logs I recreated the issue at 11:30 am MST and uploaded the logs reflecting the issue trying to watch a trailer. I have waited going on 9 days for some type of response on the original ticket. If I am doing this wrong please tell me.
Do you have hardware accelerated transcoding enabled in your Transcoder settings?
Settings → Transcoder → Use hardware acceleration when available
If so, try disabling it to see if that’s what’s causing the issue. If so, you can then troubleshoot that side of things (try different video drivers, for example).
There were some pretty significant problems a while back on with PMS on Windows when hardware accelerated transcoding was in use. Here’s some background information:
Thank you for the response first of all. The Hardware Acceleration is disabled as pictured. I updated my Video drivers, I installed beta version 1.18.6.2368 of PMS and still not working. Since the update though now my remote access will not work. It connects then disconnects.
Do you only experience this issue when transcoding extras? Or do you see the same behavior if you force transcoding of your other media? If only with extras, is it only specific ones which cause the issue? If the issue is only with specific files, it may help to upload a sample of one which causes the issue; I’ll see if I can reproduce it.
Also, for completeness’ sake, what hardware does your PMS run on (CPU, GPU if present)?
The CPU is Intel Celeron G1840 2.80 GHz. The Graphics card is the onboard GPU. This happen on all trailers and extras as far as uploading. The Media I have on disk works fine. It only happens when it goes to play the trailers before the movie starts or if I try to play the extras of the title movie. It just started doing this a week ago everything fine until then. I had no changes as far as hardware or software. How do I upload a sample?
The instructions I linked above for creating samples only pertain to local files. If you’re experiencing the issue with extras automatically added by Plex, I’m not sure what the issue could be.
Can you add a dummy video as a local extra to one of your movies and try to play that file from within Plex?
At the moment, the fact that the online trailer won’t play doesn’t say much
Are you positive the file is not local? I just had a look at your logs again and the information below is exactly what I would expect to see if the file were local and needed to be transcoded:

When I play an online trailer, no such logging is produced. Those MDE lines are the server making its decision as to whether or not it needs to transcode. I don’t have that particular movie in my collection so I cannot test.
So, just to be clear, you have no file named as below anywhere in your PMS movies library folder(s)?
Jay & Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie (International Trailer).mp4
or:
Jay & Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie (International Trailer).mkv
Another thing is I have it set to play five trailers before the start of the movie I choose to watch ( I know its weird) They just hang and will not play. I have no trailers downloaded it used to just automatically pull them down same with the extras.
