New EPG and release

Hi everyone, like the rest of you I’m in the same position regarding the “new” EPG, but if like me you live in the UK then we may be able to do something about it. In my case I like to record Holby City and Casualty both on BBC1 and BBC1HD. Now regardless of the whys and wherefores of the mess that is setting up a recording, just basic EPG information is plainly wrong.

For example, the new episode of Holby City being shown next week on Tuesday should be S21 Ep30 “Don’t Leave Me” as shown here by the BBC:

However, the Plex EPG is saying that this episode is S4 Ep11 “Don’t Leave Me” as seen here:

which gave me all the problems with trying to record new episodes.

The new EPG is NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE and as a consequence, in UK Law we have a right of redress and a way of getting some if not all of our money back thanks to The Consumer Rights Act 2015 as long as you made your purchase (Plex Pass, lifetime or otherwise) after 1st October 2015. Unfortunately if you bought your Plex Pass before that date the law doesn’t give you clear rights.

In the first instance you should send an email to Plex and it should include the following:

“Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content should be of a satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.

My rights have been breached because the digital content you sold me is faulty. I would like you to fix it within a reasonable time.”

I also suggest that you send it to their legal department and tell them that you are from the UK in your email. The Plex contact page is here.

Remember, this is only the first step. Then see what they have to say.

I got this information from Citizens Advice and their website has full details of what you can do and your rights under the Act. Go here to see the full page.
