@sa2000 Itās for this reason of the messy EPG Iām dtopping the EPG from August once Iāve moved, sorry to say but I may even drop the whole Live TV shinanigans altogether, itās been an utter shambles sorry @cire12 since it was Beta and then it was rushed out to the general public.
TiVo isnāt going to play ball, weāll always have issues with it, so this is why Iām dropping out from next month, and going down the route of grabbing my own EPG which should serve my family the way I want it to. Plex has a system to play my media is great though, this is one of the reasons I started using it, but I just cannot justify having to delete my DVR each time some screw up happens, and as for using the national EPG, you know my feelings on this one.
Hope you guys do get some form of Freeview EPG fixed in the future, and what tipped me over the edge is Tiny Pop and Pop are both showing the same programming where they are 2 different channels and it screwed up my recordings for my kids.
Live Long and Prosper and keep the hasmat suit clean and tin hats on, I can see you guys needing them a lot more over the coming months⦠or years the way TiVo works!! Just a shame Gracenote upped the prices etc. I couldāve put up with the odd missing channel over all the mess this has created in the last monthā¦
And I noticed you mention scoring again⦠Another nail in my box⦠Ah Zukkerbeg will be happy that youāre using a AI algorithm to get the lineups done⦠Beam me up Scotty before Iām sucked into rant modeā¦

Interesting - you made a suggestion that we donāt need the epg data for some channels. I explained to you why we do and you decide now that for these reasons you are leaving
So it would be better not to explain
thanks for clarifying that.
right, so taken another look. I still cannot see any of the reported Channel 4 and 5 issues. Can you please tell me which rows they are in?
@JCHH some additional clarification from the post that might have been missed:
If youāre looking for a report that youāve submitted regarding specific instances of the issues identified on the āNon-lineup Issues - Globalā tab, weāll be looking to add a detailed reports tab soon.
- Non-lineup related issues include: incorrect application of NEW tags, incorrect original air dates, show synopsis appearing in place of episode synopsis, incorrect application of HD/SD tags, or incorrect season/episode numbering.
@captain_caveman2k regarding the feedback form you provided
You were using the Freeview-National Lineup United Kingdom OTA Broadcast lineup - the day after, a change was made to allow users to select their regional channels using manual matching and the drop-down during setup with the National lineup
That would explain picking up wrong regional channels as Plex web just picks the last entry for each channel number - a temporary fix was released to add a suffix to each regional channel number so they can be selected
The other issues you reported
019 Dave and 079 Dave ja vu being 1 hour out. This is now fixed
033 ITV + 1 - no Program data. This has been referred to our provider and is being looked into
049 should be referred to as TJC - this has been mentioned to our provider
054 Paramount - Radio Programming - this has been addressed. A manual refresh is needed to pick new data
065 TBN Europe instead of TBN UK and no Program data - this has been referred to our provider
072 YourTV / 073 Sewing Quarter / 081 Talking Pictures / 085 Hochanda - generic text logos
All logos will be looked into but is not high priority at the moment. An issue has already been raised internally to review logos
022 Ideal World - no program data: This will be referred tp our provider
You also mentioned some program discrepancies for channels
005 5
044 5+1
047 4 Seven
066 CBS Reality
234
Are these still having incorrect episodes / times?
Are there any overlapping programs ?
Hi,
@sa2000 Thanks for the feedback. I must say that timely feedback would help a great deal with the level of confidence in Plex, which has recently taken a deserved bashing.
I am most interested in channels 96 - Forces TV and 99 - Smithsonian which are still not displaying any show information at all, even though the channels appear in the lineup. Every other system I have tested, including Channels, NextPVR with Schedules Direct, and HDHomeRun DVR, works corectly.
I am using Freeview Yorkshire OTA Broadcast
Regards, Richard
Many thanks @sa2000 for the personal response - it is much appreciated.
I know it is first thing in the morning here in the UK and Iāve not had my first coffee yet but Iām a little confused with your explanation.
You mention that a fix was put in place the day after my report to list all the regional variants and that Plex web simply picks the last entry. But that was the day after my report - how can Plex web be selecting the wrong regional information when that list wasnāt present at that point?
As I am using the Freeview-National Lineup I switched to use the workaround that you mentioned, moments after you posted about it. As such those channels are now looking better - however, the default data for 001, 002, 003 and 102 is still: BBC1 South West, BBC2 Scotland, ITV West of England and BBC2 NI HDTV respectively. Is there any word on a permanent fix which isnāt āa bit of a hackā ?
I reported these issues here on the 10th July and using the online form on the 11th. How come they are still present? We are now heading towards the end of week 3 of troubles and the problems are still outstanding and in the case of 022 only just being referred to the provider!
I will take a look tonight and over the weekend, and report back. However, I would like to try and catch up on some of my curl:// programming this weekend ![]()
@cire12 thanks. I would have thought that Channel 4 and 5 were UK specific, not global - our am I still misunderstanding?
Perhaps I simply, have misunderstood what āLineupā means. Does it refere to the existence (or not) of the channels themselves (regardless of the quality of the content for that channel)?
ā¦so all content related issues (new/repeat, series/episode, wrong shows, 1 hr out etc) are in the ānon-line upā category?
@sa2000 before we go hunting again for specific examples, can you please tell us what you have done to fix this problem ā¦also for More4 which I have reported with bad programming (see below)? ā¦cheers.
Just checked one of the above mentioned problem channels
CBS Reality is still having wrong data
None of these shows are new, and they are all dated today (19/07)
The channels I mentioned are both streaming IPTV channels and text only channels that Plex player just doesnāt play, this is what I donāt understand, You, no TiVo can get the EPG data right for these none OTA channels but fail miserably for the proper transmitted channels, which tells me TiVo are only good at IPTV? Please tell me Iām wrong?
Dave
What i said was that we needed to bring the lineups in-line - so if the National OTA lineup had channels then the regional lineups needed to have those channels as well - and vice versa
The program data could be just generic - what is important is getting the channels is the set of channels to have consistency with what was in place before the migration and to have consistency between lineups
I investigated the 105 HD issue and found that there were overlapping programs in the schedule and this has been raised as an issue. It is possible that the same issue affects other channels as well.
Separately form this - we do have data issues where some programs do not appear to get the episode and season numbers and you did mention this as part of the examples of issues - this is separate matter and i am gathering examples
There is a big backlog of issues to investigate and i did say before that each case could take several hours to investigate and gather the diagnostics and establish if the issue is at our end - as what looks like for 105 HD or the provider data
This should have all been tested thoroughly before it was rolled out.
correct - the 1 hour out is borderline - could fall into either
The channels were present in the National lineup - all labelled for example as channel 1
The issue was because all had the same channel number and so it picked the last entry for channel 1 - whatever it was
The fix that came a day later was a temporary fix (until Plex web and Plex Media Server can handle this scenario) was to relabel these repeated numbers as 1, 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 1-5 etc and this then allows you to manually pick one of them and assign to channel 1
When using the National lineup and with the temporary fix that relabels the channel choices as 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, etc, the default - the one that is preselected would not be correct for your region - there is a 1 in 15 or 1 in 17 chance of it being right. So when using the national - which is only a temporary fix until all the regional lineups are perfect, you do need to manually override each defaulted selection
@sa2000 Here are the other issues that are currently messing us aroundā¦
There are many others that I know are in the spreadsheet⦠Canāt check at the moment as packing, Iāve taken a chance to send this without my Welsh Girlfriend turning into a dragon breathing fireā¦
