New EPG and release

And here’s how those shows panned out after deleting and rescheduling (originally, that Nov 19 episode of Star Trek wasn’t on the recording schedule at all). Plex really seems to struggle with recording stuff when episodes get shuffled around…

I can see that this issue remains and all airings are not sequenced. I have opened a new issue with our provider

3.5 months later and most shows on Swedish channels are still listed as 2020. Sorry for the sarcasm, but I suppose this is the new default and the correct way of avoiding multiple recordings is to rename all my existing episodes (from the old guide system) to “2020”?

Located in Toronto, ONtario, Canada
Trying to record General Hospital off ABC
I also do a backup method using PLayon in case Plex screws up and it’s been needed.

But now it seems Plex’s data provider is OFF BY ONE in the episode numbers, it says 42 is monday, nope, 42 was last Friday per Abc’s own web site.

What it means is that my backup from hulu which is numbered 42, then stops Monday’s recording of GEneral Hospital OTA… So I changed it to record all episodes but that’s kinda silly, they will still be off by one. But not matter what I do I can’t seem to get the OTA records to go any more - they show until the ‘playon backup’ grabs it’s copy then Plex stops wanting to record.

Is Playon recording directly into a folder that Plex monitors? You could keep the “backup” in a separate folder and then manually move those Playon episodes into Plex if needed once a week or whenever.

Nov 15th. 1200 pm. NFL on Fox. Channel 2-2 for zip code 99705 OTA Fairbanks. Teams listed are incorrect. They are correct (disagree with Plex EPG) everywhere else I’ve looked. It should be seahawks vs. Rams. Plex says Bangles vs. Stealers.

I am going to refer this error to our provider but at the moment the channel and lineup is guesswork on my part

I can see there is an ABC Affiliate channel
7.1 - WKBW HDTV Affiliate: ABC)
on lineup Broadcast TV - Canada Toronto-Hamilton OTA Broadcast
and has General Hospital in the schedule

I will report that all these are out by 1

Responded to your topic

We do not currently support satellite DVRs for lineups that have no channel numbers

This could have been late availability of the corrected schedule data

For the next Sunday event teams are not in place yet - in the EPG data

It was corrected the day of…but several other sources had it correct all along. Case in point, as of the day prior, Plex still does not have Fox 2-2 showing an NFL game this Thursday night (Seahawks vs. Cardinals). This game isn’t a surprise last min schedule change or anything. Other TV guide providers have had it in their lineup for a while. For example zap2it.

Day of the game and it still doesn’t show a football game at all.

Also, the time for the Washington vs. Arizona college football game was incorrect. The game started at 4:00 pm Alaska time. Plex had the game starting at 7:00pm. I missed the first half because of this.

The EPG has been terrible for sports here lately. Please fix.

Just wondering if there will be any improvements made to the Guide. Some shows that I record haven’t had their seasons updated or the episode number is wrong.

For example, “The Late Late Show with James Corden” still shows Season 5. “The Ellen Degeneres Show” still shows Season 17, as well as “The View” still shows Season 23. Despite the pandemic, some of these shows had their seasons incremented since September. “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” has the correct season, but the show number is off by two because he had two Friday shows on Nov. 6 and Nov. 13 and therefore is off by two. He doesn’t usually have new shows on Fridays. This can be verified by going to the Late Show’s web site on CBS.com as it lists the season and episode number of its last or upcoming show.

It’s not too big of a deal, but it’s just a bit annoying when looking at the guide and knowing the information is incorrect. Thanks.

Adding my trouble call. Plex Media Server 1.21.0.3616 with HDHomerun 4K connect and over the air antenna feed in Jacksonville, Florida, USA. The HDHomerun receives stations with identifiers WJXE, WKBJ, and WJXX. Plex Channel Guide information does not exist for all 5 WJXX subchannels, all 7 WKBJ subchannels, and is missing the last subchannel on WJXX (25.4, Mystery). The information is available on HDHomerun’s app, so it must be available. Curious if there is a way to add specific callsigns to the packaged EPG, use multiple EPGs to align each station to it’s own information, or possibly use the first 24 hours on the EPG from the OTA broadcast?

Thanks for any guidance you may have.

For @philly4 and others, my expectation at this point is that we’ll be launching our new EPG provider sooner than the current provider would address any guide related issues, especially with the coming holidays slowing things down even further.

As I mentioned in another thread, if you want to get a sense of what the new data/lineups will look like, simply reference https://tvlistings.zap2it.com/?aid=gapzap and enter your own postal code/provider as that service utilizes TMS/Gracenote as well.

Thanks @cire12. Are you able to provide any rough ETA for launching the new provider?

Link isn’t working for me.

Try: https://tvlistings.zap2it.com/

Thanks but no, doesn’t work for me for some reason.
