HDR seems a bit flaky at present, agreed.
Stop is a s easy as BACK
Fast Forward and rewind, activate Timeline, then use the arrow keys.
Have you forgotten it a Preview / Beta.
Refer to the orginal post to find known issues.
Much faster and smoother.
However, it prompts me EVERY TIME to re-link. This is a royal PITA and makes me not want to test it.
Have you enabled auto login, Manual Server addresses, in plex client settings and reserved your server LAN IP address in the modem.
But how is it better? The opening post just says it’s redesigned from the ground up. Why? What is the point?

Did I do this on the non-preview app? I know I don’t have auto-login for that (since my kids have a separate login that I use frequently).
So in no particular order - the headline obvious improvements for me - certainly not exhaustive list:
- 2-3 times faster or more than previous gen - now near enough instant rendering with nvme caching.
- Skip intro feature
- Full playlist integration
- Smoother animated modern UI
- Full implementation of library recommendation section for content discovery
I have not experienced any HDR or buffering issues with +20mb/s files so this may be restricted to certain file / codec types and/or hardware. Oled55c6 / ds918+
Looking forward to the next round of fixes and video preview thumbnails and magic remote support being added. Super work
I recently got the offer to upgrade to the early access plex, and while I love the new UI, I can’t use the point and click function of the LG Magic Remote where it acts like a mouse. The old version worked fine with this and I’d love for them to implement this on the new version of plex!

Unplayed filter doesn’t work correctly and shows, series I have watched but doesn’t show series that have unplayed episodes…
biggest complaint, is that when first navigating so for example clicking down in the library or any section, there is a big stutter but once I’ve clicked down and then go back up its smooth… its as if its loading other data as I click down which makes the experience feel clunky… I can post a video if you would like…
If possible can we get GUI sounds as an option I actually like having a audio sound playing every time I click to another item or go down… could be a option to turn it off for people who don’t like it.
Grey subtitle option would be nice for us folks with OLED TV’s
Work for me without issues. You may have to look closer into your Plex server config file under Network or/and your network Firewall. Also, make sure your network router does port forward.
No Direct play available with 4K HDR movies. Despite having a correct setup in local streaming (original quality) it’s always transcoding to 1080.

Hi I own the LG 55UJ6300. And I have tested the new early access UI. I stream most of my library through plex servers. But what I really liked and is lacking in the early access is the custom font cache provided by ass. files. Sometimes the default fonts provided aren’t all that great. So please do not remove this feature, because I heavily rely on it.
The shuffle is gone for the entire show. I lived off this feature sad to see it go. I can only shuffle the season. Anyway to turn the preview off so I can get that back?

Works perfectly direct play for me and others. Consider including your hardware (TV/server etc) to help the devs squash bugs.
Lg 4k webos smartv, last server installed in pc. If I use early view of new app it doesn’t works. If I use the old one works perfectly(as usual) so the problem seems not to be mine
I just tried to delete something through the interface. It froze after confirming yes, and kept the yes/no question on the screen. Could not back out of it and turned off the tv after about 1.5 minutes.
Same issue here. It would be great if color options had many grey values. I think the previous app had different white options (something like “blended white”?). Still, full white subtitles are a problem on OLED TVs and it would be great to just have a wide variety of gray or opacity options.

first off, thanks for the update and thinking of us 
Of the aforementioned items, some things weren’t mentioned yet I did notice:
- A Lot of ‘Playback Error. An unexpected playback error has occured’ on files. They include a lot of files, both big & small. Tried to find more details, but logging to server didn’t provide any data.
- After using ‘Skip Intro’ on series, the video remains in ‘Buffering’. Though this can be resolved by stop & resume, I thought even for 400mb 42 min files, data over the network shouldn’t be that big of an issue.
- Startup time is >10 seconds. When started the app is snappy.
