I wish I could say the same. I’ve updated my app and my server (and rebooted). Still the same results: Desktop is fine, mobile won’t load (almost anything) unless I’ve loaded it on my desktop first. The only exception to this is my local PBS station, that one loads quickly and live, whereas the other stations when they load start at the point where my desktop originally started.
Also just to add, I did confirm through the Dashboard it’s streaming via h.264 to my iPhone.
I have all the same problems with my iOS app and also Android. Why is there no ETA from Plex for a fix? And why can’t they make the pre-updated apps available while they properly test the repaired apps?
Just adding to the choir, Live TV on the mobile app is broken for me as well after the new Plex update.
iOS Client Version 2025.17.0 (1082). Platform Version 18.5.
Plex Server Version 1.41.8.9834
Well the most recent set of updates seemed to have fixed the problem. Some of the channels are a little slower to load, but others are faster, and all seem to load.
Nothing fixed here, still crashes as soon as Live TV is selected (iOS). Come-on Plex, this is ridiculous. I have not had Live TV since the new app was release and the crashing is consistent and reproducible. It is unacceptable that you are mistreating your customers and your software in this way. I have had to switch to Jellyfin for Live TV for months now. At least make som posts about your progress, if any. The silence is unacceptable.
Nearly two months since stable release and live TV is still completely unusable on Android mobile ![]()
Hi Phil, I was asking the same question. Plex technical support lack of communication is concerning. With this so many issues they should provide the option for IOS user to go back to a usable version
I’m still unable to watch live TV:
iOS Client Version 2025.18.0 (1109). Platform Version 18.5.
Plex Server Version 1.41.8.9834
When I click items on the guide, it prompts for the option to record. It doesn’t even offer to play the item, because the orange vertical indicator for present time vs program time window seems to be off (i.e. it’s not detecting my local time properly, it’s like 2 hours off. The time settings on my NAS that hosts Plex are set correctly, including the offset. Using the Whats On menu, I click a program and get an “Uh Oh…” message. Hopefully they can fix this soon!
I think the devs are actively working on Live TV issues, Beta versions have many fixes but its a bit back and forward from what I can see.
IMHO overall the Live TV module on iOS and Android TV is slowly improving - long way from a few years back.
I just had a Plex update for my Android phone and it does now seem to be working, but it is slow to respond to changing channels. My iPad has not had a Plex app update for months and is not working for live TV at all. I get that they may be actively working but is there no-one working for Plex who knows how to communicate with those of us who have paid for their Plex services?
Just got a 7 July iPad Plex app update. Live TV still broken - not available. Selecting any live programme results in error "The operation couldn’t be completed. (CoreMediaErrorDomain error 1718449215.). C’mon Plex, fix it.
This is ridiculous I’m guessing still no acknowledgement of this being an issue either
I’m able to watch live tv on my android phone even though it takes 3 eons to load (I’m a time traveler).
However on my android TV, it takes forever to load and it doesn’t play any live tv channels either
Another update today, for iOS, version 2025.21.0. Still broken. Still when selecting any live programme results in error "The operation couldn’t be completed. (CoreMediaErrorDomain error 1718449215.). Hey Plex people - what is happening here? I am perPlexed.
Another update today, for iOS, version 2025.22.0. My quick observation is that live TV loads within a second or two and plays properly.. I will run some proper testing over the next couple of days and I will update this forum again.
2025.22.0 iOS Update: still takes a minute to load TV Tuner channels, but audio is now working.
guide still sucks
Still transcoding from HDHR when the old app did not.
I earlier posted that my app begun working again, but the next update killed it again (but I didn’t post). This most recent update has brought it back, though it still takes about 20-30 seconds for the stream to initially load. Still glad to see it working, want to play around with it a little more to see if it’s fixed for good or if there are other problems.
