I have 796 movies on my server hard drive, but only 777 show up in the library list, all of the 22 missing were added since April 1, 2022 . . . tried updating Metadata, analyzing and optimizing list, but nothing let’s me show the newest additions.
Here’s a few common scenarios:
filter your libraries for Duplicates – if the file names are ambiguous, Plex might have mismatched and merged them with items already in your library. When you found a duplicate (=library item with multipel files associated to it), check out 
>Info to identify which files are linked to the item; you can subsequently split them apart and manually correct the mismatch
if your library is configured to automatically create collections, some of your (new) movies might be “hidden” in such a collection (e.g. if you added 1 James Bond movie and it’s now grouped with all your other James Bond movies in a single library item (=collection)
sort your library by date added to see if there’s some odd movies that don’t belong; check out > Info to see if they’re actually one of your missing movies and subsequently fix that bad match
display your library in Folders mode and check if you can find the folder containing the missing movie(s) – open it and see what movie’s inside (could be mismatched or merged – see #1+3)
Still not helping. All movies but “the fifth element” appear just fine. I can add movies and they appear just fine.
If I search for the fifth element it finds it and I can play it. It simply just does not appear in the library
That most likely means it has been added to a collection,
which in turn has been configured to hide its members from the library list.
Search it again, then edit it and look into the Collection field.
Sounds like you may want to consider changing how collections are displayed inside your libraries.
Go to that library → click the 3 dots → edit → advanced
If you click disable, I believe it will show the collection items in your library like normal.
If you click show collections and their items it will show them normally as well as show the cover for your collections inside the library too
Make sure you save your changes
thanks for the suggestions. Already did that. It did not help. Movies still done show up in library. But can be searched and played.
Plex dance does not fix.
Also… I have added new movies and they show up.
If it’s all movies you recently added, normally I would suspect some type of permissions issue went out of wack or your hd is getting weird
But you’re saying you can search the movie manually in the search bar and find it
It’s matched with all the correct metadata
You can play the movie
It’s not hiding in a collection
Other movies you add show up fine
But you can’t find it anywhere on your server in the library?

Ok, so this is going to sound stupid and somewhat insulting to even ask
BUT… You are looking for The Fifth Element under “F” correct?
Not “T”?
I may or may not have done this more than once lol
I looked previously in both places.
WTH. it was under “The”. Looks like Sort Title was messing me up.
Thanks all for the help. Now it all makes sense. 
If that is a persistent issue we should look at your sort title settings.
