About 2 weeks ago my movie auto-matching function stopped working, it just can’t match movies anymore. TV Series is working fine and have matched a good few in the same time span. I have tried right clicking the movie to manually match, does not work either.
None of these movies have difficult names or of foreign origin.
Example - “The Mother” a movie from 2023 - no matches, not even just manually searching for the word ‘mother’ brings neither The Mother (2023) or Mother! (2017) as a suggestion. Doesn’t matter if I remove year, nothing works - no matches. Another easy new movie “Ghosted” - produces nothing when searched for even though there are 8 movies named “Ghosted” if you search on imdb.
Apart from an upgrade to latest version of Plex whenver PMS asks for an update I do very little changes, this is why this bug is very surprising.
Any thoughts?
Edit - Just to underline, it’s not a naming/folder/structure problem because this is handled automatically by Radarr and it’s been working fine for years on end.
Can we get the server logs, and exact filename and path of an affected file? If needed please preform and Plex Dance so we can see the scanning/matching of the media in your logs
I hate to say this, but it probably is a folder structure issue.
You have plex monitoring E:\Encoded Movies but your movies are in subfolders of that: E:\Encoded Movies\2023
You either need to remove the subfolders, or add them as primary folders in your library. Do me a favor plex dance that file to: E:\Encoded Movies\The Mother (2023) {imdb-tt6968614}\The Mother (2023) {imdb-tt6968614}.mkv
Thanks for the input, since I can’t even match the movie manually (something I sometimes have to do with the odd few, often foreign or strange named movies) to find the movie I suspect this won’t work either. Having them in year-folders have for the last 8 years not been a problem.
Can also add that trying to “Fix Match” on any matched movie from the past will result in same - not possible to find any movies that match what I’m searching for. So whatever worked before, with the same file - now just doesn’t.
So I am actually going to do something I have never done before Ask for verbose logging.
Please enable verbose logging Plex dance and attempt manual matching of this movie (using my recommended naming) and then immediately grab the server logs and upload them (and then turn off verbose logging)
I am having your exact issue and its only in one of my movie categories. I have 2 separate movie categories which would link with the IMDB, My regular straight movie category working fine still, but my gay movie is having issue you described not able to auto link or manual ither, it choose won’t search at all when you try, so weird. Please tell me if you’ve found a solution.
Appreciate all the help so far, the problem has been solved and can’t really explain how with certainty. Read through a thread on problems with TV Series not being scanned properly, one person had changed filename to lower case to fix the problem.
So I did just that late yesterday. Plex Danced the file, changed to lower cases, moved into the 2023 folder. I had also stopped the PMS service and restarted it (but my server have been restarted atleast 3 times last 2 weeks prior with no effect, one of the times right before making first post).
And putting the movie back, scanning - now it appeared with correct match, and the manual match function works…strange thing, the 5-6 movies who also didn’t work before now suddenly worked (without change to lower case). So not exactly sure how this got fixed, but Radarr automatically added 2 more movies during the night and they have scanned automatically too.
I have had this problem in the past and it has been resolved “magically” as well. I am currently experiencing it again and like the previous post stated, even the movies that are already matched now show “No matches found” if i try to Fix-match. Any Ideas on why this keeps happening? and when is the next update that will fix this? (And to restate, these issues resolve themselves without me changing file names or pathways so please, don’t ask for directory info, that’s not the problem.)
I’m experiencing the same issues where new movies added are now not matching and I only have the single option which brings no results. Never had the issue before but it sounds like waiting it out is the best option for a fix. I wonder if turning off the beta features would prevent it from happening in the future.
It’s funny that you say it, because my problem magically solved itself without actually doing much…and now, suddenly again, same time as you are having a problem… my new movies don’t match again.
That is a very strange coincidence.
Extremely simple name to find and match normally, yet it doesnt now:
