Do not be surprised. Currently only DTS HD works. And that stutters for me. But seems to be a general problem of beta, since other DTS HD content is synonymous only with dropouts.

DV single layer rips with AC3, EAC3, DTS and AAC work well.

TrueHD should come soonest with 7.26.

Could you please look into this Problem with the Shield Tube 2019? sixones isnt replying.

I returned my two tubes because of these and other issues. I replaced them with 2 pros, They both have crashes on 4K HDR with old and new player. Weird thing is its only on some movies
and if I launch them they crash immediately. But a lot of my other movies work fine. The ones that crash my 2 shield pros don’t crash my 3rd shield pro though. They are all running the newest beta client.

As I understand it, the tube simply has too little RAM (32bit) or performance for high quality 4K material. The tube is only for inferior Netflix / Amazon etc. 4K material streaming thought!?

@blackaveli187 has exchanged his tube for a pro and since then no more problems with high quality Matrial.

If I open Kodi and do nothing, already ~65% GB RAM is occupied.

i want to know from Plex if it works, going to work or never works. to return or not

I had the same issue with my tube, it would play certain movies fine but others it would crash. Since I changed it to the pro version I’ve not experienced any crashes on the beta version of plex. Strange you’re still getting it on your pro version though

Okay, that was not clear to me. Then really Plex seems to be the problem. What about the Plex addon in Kodi? Is it going on? (or did you mean Kodi + Plex addon?)

yes, Plex for Kodi works without problems. Play everything and is absolut fast. and there was a new beta recent.
But i want UNO.

So please Plex - whats going on, are you going to fix this?

If I was you and if you can then upgrade to the pro version.

I think it has something to do with the Tube being 32 bit and possibly the plex app has been designed to work better with 64bit? i dunno im just taking a guess. I wanted to future proof myself as i read google wants all app developers to support 64bit versions and not 32bit

Maybe you are right. Waiting for Nvidia for giveback terms :pleading_face:

I think asking for help here is completely futile. they don’t want to give it because they have no idea how to fix the memory leak. it’s a shame though, plex should at least own it like nvidia does.

plex doesn’t hold all the blame though, nvidia is bad too for releasing a half baked product that is the Tube. HDR basically doesn’t work normally with Sony TVs either and they too are struggling to fix that.

Not everyone can just return and get a new one (NVIDIA has not even answerd to return terms over a week)

I am a volunteer Ninja and not a developer. You asked me to address the issue. As already previously stated, I can not as I no longer own it.

In hindsight, I should not have even shared my experience with you because now you expect me to assist you. You have already directly communicated with the developers.

There is nothing further I can do that adds value to your situation. Please do not mention me again re: your ShieldTV Tube. Many others have already chimed in with similar experiences.

have you looked in the problem? Is there going to be a fix?

Cant use Plex with the Plex App on the Tube and 4k. HD works, but i havent bought it for HD.
