New Plex Guide Very Poor in UK

Grand Designs should be fixed from now on - unless we find there is still an ongoing issue on 4Seven. See my post above this one. I will wait to see how the next airing on 4Seven gets into the EPG and check it.

With regards to daily full EPG refresh - this will be run as scheduled task (using the existing slot - but will be daily and will be full rather than incremental). I expect this to get included in version 1.18 of Plex Media Server

Don’t believe this is true now. Data is collected from many sources - I believe main input is from the broadcasting companies. This is really internal to our provider

The issue of multiple recordings scheduled at the same time - would be for cases where the EPG shows the airing being of a TV Show / TV Series rather than an airing of an episode. Grand Designs has now been looked into. We will need to establish if there are others that warrant a change

got it - thanks.

do you mean that in 1.18 there will be an option to do a full refresh or that this will be the new default (i.e. incrementals will stop)?

As explained in my earlier post - this happens if the airing is shown to be of a series / show rather than an episode. I can see that for 25th September Grand Designs entry was wrong. The airings after that on channel 4 are correct. I will mention this to our provider now - together with 4Seven airing for today

incremental will stop then but may come in at a later date when we have inter-day updates

In 1.18, the release I expect this to be in, all automcatic refreshes will be full, There is an existing Scheduled Task entry and this will be used
“Perform Refresh of program guide data”

In addition to this, on every launch of Plex Media Server, a check will be made to see if there was a refresh in last 24 hours and if not, to run one

To elaborate

These are the channels Grand Designs is being aired on
004 CHANNEL4 (Channel 4)
015 C41 (Channel 4 +1)
018 MORE4 (More4)
047 4SVN (4seven)
086 M41 (More4 +1)
104 C4H (Channel 4 HDTV)
109 C41H (Channel 4+1 HDTV)
110 4SEH (4seven HDTV)

I meant channel 18 More4 and channel 86 More4+1 always had the data at episode level. The other channels did not and that has been addressed - except there were still a 25th Sep airing on Channel 4 and a 26th September airing today on 4Seven that are not classed as episode airings. I am following these up

Thank you. I can see that. Will flag it to our provider

The series “A Collection” on various ITV channels seems to be not correctly listed as a series in the EPG as Plex has scheduled 6 recordings for the same day:

I’m on Freesat South.

BTW, by switching off repeats and limiting the channel to just ITV HD I reduced the scheduled recordings to 1.

Thanks for reporting this. Similar issue to Grand Designs. I have referred it to our provider. The episodes airing as a “series” rather than episodes

This has now been corrected and the correction is available in our EPG. Please do a manual refresh to pick the correction

yep - confirmed - thanks.

seems I have to do a manual refresh anyway as it seems the scheduled one doesn’t happen. Is that still an issue or am I imagining this?

cheers,
J.

Season and Episode numbers have been corrected for QI / QI XL on BBC and also on Dave

Please do a full EPG manual refresh to pick up the corrections

Until version 18.x comes out, the scheduled one happens every 4 hours and is very limited in what it picks up

Episodes are correct now. Please refresh the guide to pick up the changes

Great - thanks

I might have found another candidate: Crime and Punishment and Channel 4 et al.

Tonight is episode 3 but Plex shows it only with a date label.

Tonight’s episode of A Confession (ITV 9:00pm) isn’t marked as NEW
Tonight’s episodes of Plebs (ITV2 10:00pm, 10:30pm) are showing as S4E9 and S4E10 instead of S5E1 and S5E2

I fed that back to our provider after they fixed the episode numbering. It is correct for next Monday

This did show correctly as NEW last week:
