I had the same issue with the TDF. Ive now got setup with XMLTV from schedules direct, it takes a bit more setting up but the guide is now correct, i was finding a huge amount of incorrect data.
Is anyone from Plex going to respond to these issues from paying customers?
Agree UK EPG data remains poor and recording vs whats in the guide is inconsistent. Iâm also receiving dual recordings for many programmes (see the unsolved thread at [SOLVED] TV Episode is getting recorded twice)
EPG is just useless, Iâve attached an example. Hold the Sunset is S02E01 tonight but in Plex it comes up as S01E08. Note the lack of episode description as well, just the generic program info.
Iâve seen plenty of other examples where the episode data is wrong or tv programs will only record to a movie library.
Just a joke of a service at the minute.

Thank you for replying to that - Iâm trying to find a time to obtain logs you requested when Iâm not at work. However this other bug was only about duplicate recordings - in this thread Iâm still waiting to hear what is being done to improve the data quality, such as the problem I reported when C5HD is not being flagged as HD, thus restricting recording to âHD onlyâ means nothing is recorded. From a UI perspective itâs also confusing as browsing the planner will show a red R, but then moving to DVR upcoming recordings will not show them listed. I would appreciate an update as to when these issues will be addressed.
Happy to come across this thread - my issue is very similar.
After a fresh setup of Plex Server yesterday (Ubuntu 18.04), many of my channels are missing program data this morning. Including E4, more 4 and Channel 5 - see screen shot. Despite two manual guide refreshes and a system reboot. I am using the âFreeview London OTA Broadcastâ, as advised by @sa2000.
I bought a lifetime Plex Pass a couple of months ago, largely for DVR. And have found it really buggy Iâm afraid; I have sunk many hours into uninstalling and re-installing it and am close to giving up on the DVR. I am growing to really miss the âold wayâ of doing things. Another couple of issues:
- I eventually gave up on series recording Neighbours and Home and Away for my wife, from Channel 5HD. Episodes repeatedly wouldnât record, would record twice, would record with the wrong airdate attached etc etc. Through multiple nuke and pave re-installs and combinations of settings (restricted to air time etc)
- When attempting to restrict to airtime (Neighbours/Home and Away episode are always shown twice in the same day) the airtime was always wrong by an hour despite being apparently correct in the guide (and on my computer). Again across multiple nuke and pave re-installs.
Note that Channel 5 is one of the channels with no programming this morning. Perhaps related?
I am close to giving up and seeing it as ÂŁ100 hopefully invested for working one day in the future. And Iâm sorry to moan - I am growing to love all other aspects of Plex.
I am also seeing this. The guide function has been poor for a while now. I will be trying a few guide sources tonight.
Iâm having an issue myself, signed up for Plex Pass and my HD Homerun arrived today - so I was excited to be able to start recording my favourite shows to have in my Plex library, however quite a few of the channels simply say âx programmingâ depending on which channel it is, so I am unable to record as I canât access the program to record it 
Just like pjnewcombeâs picture above. The HD Homerun EPG guide is perfect though! Iâm using the Freeview-National Lineup United Kingdom OTA Broadcast because my regional is messing up E4 with and additional channel 4+1
After some testing this afternoon I am beginning to suspect that this is an issue with the Plex Web interface. Also the Mac desktop app. On my iPad the guide is not showing Programming. It is still incorrect with regards the regional channel differences but showing better info than the Web view. I am close to giving up on Plex for Guide info. Will be looking at XML options. Very poor.
It has been poor in the US too. Almost a disaster for me.

Iâm quite a light user and only tend to record from 7 or so HD channels and out those 5 have no programming info. (Freeview Central West OTA)
You should really remove the DVR feature from your site at the moment as its just false advertising.
I just checked it out on hubbyâs ipad and itâs showing all the programs there, I have set a recording for 7.30 on E4 hoping that it works as I tried the android app on a tablet and it shows the same as the web, but not even on the iPad does it show it in upcoming recordings but it does show it in the guide view with the red recording symbol on the iPad.
Same issue. This needs sorting ASAP or refunds made to paying customers.
I have the same issue. All the important channels just say the channel name and âprogrammingâ. Iâm using âDVR - Freeview-National Lineup United Kingdom OTA Broadcastâ The other half is not getting her soap operas recorded and Iâm in the dog house!

Same issue here. After the long running farce with the tuner issues at the beginning of the year I would expect that Plex would be more careful before rolling out updates without fully testing them by now. For what is a paid service the support & testing seems to be unacceptable.
The issue with episode numbers for Hold the Sunset series has now been fixed. This will be visible once the issue with overlapping airings is cleared (currently resulting in âXXX Programmingâ being displayed
The other issue relating to generic program information will be looked into further
This issue of displaying âXXXX Programmingâ for many channels is actively being addressed, It was caused by overlapping blocks of data and old generic airing info not being removed.
