Eeek, mine is installed on a QNAP NAS, it seems it’s a bit tricky to do. I’m going to have a look and see if I can find it and zip it up. I did a refresh and while it solved some, E4, channel 4 and some channels previously listed by someone else above is still showing the blocks, but I have the Freeview-National Lineup United Kingdom OTA Broadcast DVR
The issue with generic programming blocks coming back for Channel 4, E4 and Channel 4+1, Drama UK, E4+1, 4seven and CBBC is being worked on - so no need for database file if it is these channels for Sunday night / Monday onwards programs
it’s not clear to me what you are referring to, but if it is downloading logs or the database etc, but’s easy to do from the web app even if your server is pin a QNAP.
The EPG database is not downloaded through the web interface - only the main database
The files need to be copied out manually from the directory
agh, EPG database - got it.
@mmmbisto How about installing PMSLibShare?
This creates a new share on your QNAP pointing to the Plex directory and looks like this…

Note: I am on a Mac, but will look the same on Windows…
[edit: added Mac comment and referenced mmmbisto]
This seems to have stopped the recording of a scheduled programme last night, It was showing on the Recordings page but since it’s broadcast it has vanished and no recording was made.
Without looking at server logs captured before and during recording time, it is not possible to say if it was due to the overlaps. The airings are not disappearing. Plex Web does not display them but they are there with other airings overlapping
Please find logs attached:

The recording for “The Handmaid’s Tale” - episode 11 - did show previously:

But now it has vanished from the Recordings page:

The issue resulting in generic blocks of "xxxxx programming " due to overlapping airings has now been resolved. A full EPG refresh is needed to be run to correct the guide
I noticed Channel 4 was showing programme details even before an EPG refresh this morning; I did a refresh anyway but can see generic blocks for Channel 4 from SAT 06:00 onwards.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. The overlaps are fixed and they were one of the causes for this. It appears that we have generic programming from 24 August for a number of channels - I have referred this to our provider.
Yes - I can see generic blocks for Channel 4, ITV HD Meridian, ITV Meridian, ITV 2, ITV 2+1, ITV 4, E4, More4, 4seven, ITV 4+1, Yesterday, Film4 from SAT 24 AUG; the switch to the generic block varies between channels and happens between 03:10 and 11:00.
wow - that’s a lot of channels still not right after 7 weeks.
That was an operational issue which will be investigated by our provider to establish the cause.
Have there been many operational problems? Can you explain what you mean by operational?
I ask because my experience is that this really means one (or more) of the following:
- poorly defined processes
- lack of personal discipline to follow processes
- reliant on manual intervention or checking (not error proof)
If it is a systematic or consistent root-cause it is easily addressed (edit a script, turn a dial etc). If this isn’t the case there is a good chance of reoccurrence, either with this particular symptom (generic blocks) or another from the same root-cause.
[edit: typos]
Your post was that channels were still not right after 7 weeks.
that’s a lot of channels still not right after 7 weeks
I responded to say that this was not the case and that this lack of data is some operational issue rather than the channels still not being right
It may be that the data was late arriving at our provider. Need to wait until the root cause analysis investigation is concluded
Sorry if I wasn’t very clear…
My 1st post was about channels, but you answered that.
Then you wrote:
And I was responded to that with the following:
…and you have (just now) replied to that with:
So, my question about operational issues stands but, as you wrote, needs to wait until the analysis is concluded.
[edit: added a section after re-reading your reply]
This was resolved in today’s feed. Please run a manual guide refresh to pick up all the data
