Hi ,
I am having an issue with the E4 channel Listings - the listing for during the day seem ok but after 11pm the listings show no resemblance to what is on.
Just lost channels 24 to 53 on Uk Freeview. On my epg.
When I go to the tuner settings and go to the channels. That normally correspond to these channels . But In the drop down menu there is no corresponding channel to link it to.
I donât know if this is related to the channel numbers being changed.
Thereâs definitely some oddities happening because of this that Plex isnât coping too well withâŠ
My EPG continued to list the old channels for the next few days, and unfortunately I wasnât aware of the changes that Freeview were making, so only realised something was wrong yesterday when trying to watch programmes that had recorded from the wrong channel.
When I took a look at the âManage Channelsâ dialog I noticed channels 24 to 53 were not mapped to channels with guide data anymore.
I then performed a full retune and manual fix up of the channel mappings but today saw issues with Plex for Windows still caching the old channel numbers until I restarted it:

You can also see in the above screenshot that the incorrectly cached ITV4 on Channel 024 has an âUnknownâ entry at 12:45 yet the correct version on Channel 25 (and presumably is more up to date with guide data) has âSnookerâ.
This afternoon I then witnessed Plex Server record âCharmedâ on 4 Music using the new channel number (Channel 030) but later it recorded âMalcolm in the Middleâ on 4 Music using the old Channel 029 so I ended up with 30 minutes of E4+1 ![]()
According to the DVR Schedule for all of next week âMalcolm in the Middleâ was going to record off Channel 029 until I also restarted Plex Server as well.
My advice to anyone would be to: retune, fix up the channel mappings if necessary, perform a full guide download and restart all clients and the server.
I have tried to refresh guide and I have also tried to rescan for channels
After the scan when I try to link the scanned channels with the channels Plex knows about I do not have anything between 24 and 55.
Not sure if I will have to delete my DVR in plex and start again
Oh crap - To me that looks like Plex isnât downloading the data for Channels 24 to 53 anymore ![]()
Are you able to enable the channels on the left, but not map them to anything, then hit Save - at that point Plex should perform a guide refresh. Iâm hoping it will download channels 24 to 53 - maybe worth a try before you delete your DVR from Plex.
I ended up deleting the DVR and re-tuned my main tuner
After scanning the tuner, I went to select the region
by entering postcode. I was given the full list of options.
If I selected UK national Freeview list the channels 24 to 55 were there, but some channel number seemed to be out by 1 number.
I am in the STV Central Region.
I tried this a couple of times but still donât see the channels under âFreeview STV Central OTA Broadcastâ
After the refresh the channels like you suggested. once I go back into it they are unselected and there is no corresponding channel in the drop down menu.
I donât know if this is linked to Scotland having BBC4 at channel 24 rather than channel 9 like the rest of the UK. or am I clutching at straws here.
There have been Freeview channel changes - outlined here https://www.freeview.co.uk/help/4-nov-2020-channel-changes
When a channel changes its number, manual user intervention is needed once the lineup has been updated to manually map the tuner channel to the guide channel
As this major change shifted many channel numbers up by 1 - the manual mapping needs to be done starting with the highest channel number to avoid getting duplicate channels mapped leading to errors
Big Freeview change - https://www.freeview.co.uk/help/4-nov-2020-channel-changes
I am in the STV region as well and have similar issues - with the main channels missing that I wanted being ITV4 (for touring cars) and BBC4 (for TOTP). I used a Highland postcode instead of my usual one (e.g. IV1), and that seem to match the channels. However, that lineup does seem to have BBC 2 HD from Northern Ireland for some reason - hope it is close enough to BBC2 Scotland.
There is definitely something wrong with the âFreeview STV centralâ Lineup on PlexâŠ
After I deleted the DVR and when I was rebuilding it, I switched to the âFreeview-National Lineup United Kingdom OTA Broadcastâ but then you have to select each regional channel individually.
Iâve got issues with the programme guide just recently. I have a series link set up to record a show called Murder on CCTV (yep Iâm a true crime fan!) which airs on Quest Red (ch 39) at 9pm every Saturday. However in Plexâs guide at that time is a completely different show which is also airing on Quest (ch 12). Iâm having similar issues with shows on CBS Reality (ch 66) showing a totally different show to whatâs advertised in the actual Freeview guide, so Plex doesnât bother to record it and I end up with gaps in my library. Very annoying!
The ITV4 (Channel 025) showing of âFinal Destinationâ on Thursday 19th at 23:20 is listed as being produced in 2013 but it should be 2000
There is also no artwork - presumably because the backend servers are struggling to find a match with that year.
Some gaps are starting to appear in the guide from Saturday 21st:
Hopefully these will get filled in/corrected in the next data ingestion but I wanted to raise them just in case there is a problem.
A new issue for me set to happen tonightâŠ
The Great British Bakeoff is in the EPG, it appears set to âNewâ, but the DVR Schedule is not picking it up. Even tried cancelling recording and setting it up again.

If I turn on âNew and Repeat Airingsâ it still doesnât find the 9PM showing on either Channel 4 or Channel 4 HD
Could you get me server logs now ? (with debug logging enabled) -
Appears to be ok now. Extended durarion entries tend to appear at the end of available data and as we get into the generic programming blocks
So probably was delayed availability of EPG data
An EPG refresh now shows the earliest generic blocks on the main channe;s appearing about 7 days from now

If you do an EPG refresh now you will see that the 19th November 23:20 airing has the correct year: Final Destination (2000)
However I do see that the subsequent airing on 23 November at 23:15 is referring to 2013. I will flag that to our provider.
I have refreshed now and am seeing the same as yourself ![]()
Ironically, the scheduled recording for Thursday moved to the 23rd and I had to set up another recording for the correct listing. Presumably the internal identifiers changed as well ??
Thank you.
