New build from 10 hours ago… this one lists the issue again. Worth a shot, I guess.
Well, the auto play in the background is finally fixed after two months… But it’s still turning on subtitles on it’s own after playing the next episode manually.
Maybe I’ll revisit Plex in about 6 months or so. I’m done. Best of luck to the rest of you.
Same issue here. Sometimes, the audio and subtitles begin to play for the next episode, no video. it continues displaying the “up next” screen until I back out and go in again.
The playing in the background issue is fixed, but as mentioned above the subtitles are still being turned on for no reason…
Still broke. Like 2 minutes ago. Just doesn’t happen everytime.
Bump, subtitles are still enabling themselves when you let a series autoplay.
Nice of someone from Plex to acknowledge the issue at all…
Still happening, this is just ridiculous now that nobody from Plex is interested in fixing this bug.
It is a known issue. I’m sorry I do not have an ETA for a fix

Thank you for acknowledging the issue, that is all I was asking for.
I believe in addition to the subtitle track it also changes the audio track. It is maddening

The initial issue is back again on the latest Beta, it’s now playing in the background for the first few seconds again… great.
I am also experiencing this issue using the latest available beta on my nvidia shield. This is really annoying since play next is so core to the experience.
Yep, still an issue here as well and annoying as hell. Sometimes it plays the next episode in the background and never moves from the screen telling you what episode is playing next unless you manually click on the play button.
Nearly two months down the line and still having the same issue. Any update?
I have a bad feeling, that with the new Shield update, they will have their hands full with those problems and this will be put on the back burner again.
Well that sounds ominous. Do you have a reference to specific problems with the Shield update?

Yeah… you can’t really lay something out like that and not follow up with a reference.
I’ve had zero issues with the latest Shield update and Plex beta for that matter.
I’ve not had any more issues, just this ongoing one that’s still the same.
Still plays the wrong audio and subtitle track on play next.
My media file has these options in plex:
Audio Stream: Main Audio, Director's Commentary
Subtitles: None, English
I’m watching the first episode with Main Audio and None subtitles. After Play Next it will switch to Director's Commentary and English subtitles.
Off-by-one error, using/not using zero-based index, idk… but seems like a ridiculous problem to still have in such core functionality after all this time.
My statement was " a bad feeling". Ominous? Yes. Shield updates start the mudslide down of issues with Plex app on Shield. Look at Reddit with issues with CEC, wifi issues, Plex buffering. These forums are not filled with people saying" everthing is great, how are you?
