I’ve installed Plex server from the Synology package center. In the Plex portal I have added the “video” folder on my Synology to the libraries (set permission correctly as instructed). In the “video” folder, there are 2 folder in which I have my videos. One folder is being indexed and shows the videos. The other folder is showing but is empty. I have renamed the folder, without any effect. I moved videos from the folder that shows as empty to the folder showing videos. The videos that I’ve moved show-up perfectly in the folder that wasn’t empty in the first place. It seems therefore that it’s not the videos itself that are causing the empty folder, but something else. Anyone?
I’ve just applied the permissions again, but no change. What is different than what I read in the FAQ’s is that I do not have the option to apply this to subfolders and files. The screenshots look different. Both from when I go through Control Panel > Shared folder > video > edit > permissions or via File station > right click > edit > permissions. What could I be doing wrong and why does it index 1 subfolder, but not the other?
You nailed it, @ChuckPa ! Indeed the volume must have been created 3 Synology migrations before by videostation from Synology on an old DSM and older hardware at that time. I created a new shared folder, moved the 2 folders in the new folder and set the permissions correctly, now causing it all to work perfectly
