"Not Authorized" error

I just got a new nas and am trying to set up Plex. I’ve downloaded package from Plex site, but when I click on it to go to Plex I get a pan that says “Not authorized. You do not have access to this server.” Help please!

Synology DS920+ running DSM7. Downloaded latest Plex package from website.

  1. You have to be on the same network as the server for initial setup (to claim the server).
  2. You have to be using RFC-1918 addressing for your network (such as 10.x.x.x, 172.16.x.x to 172.31.x.x, or 192.168.x.x).
  3. Point your browser at the IP address of the DS920+: http://nas_ip_address:32400/web (ex: http://192.168.1.5:32400/web).

Clicking the “Open” button in Synology Package Center or using Synology Quick Connect does not work for initial setup of a Plex server.

Edit: If needed, you can claim a server remotely by setting up an SSH tunnel. See Installation support document for details.

Heya!

Thanks so much for your response!!

I pointed my browser (tried both Chrome and Safari) to the IP address of my Synology, but I get the following error. “Safari Can’t Connect to the Server. Safari can’t open the page because Safari can’t connect to the server.”

I feel like a moron and really appreciate your help.

Thanks again!

This is Plex and Synology weirdness, not you. DSM 7 changed a lot of things.

It looks like you’re getting assistance from @ChuckPa on another thread. Answer his questions when you get a chance. That will help solve your problem accessing the server.

I’ll close this thread to avoid duplication. It can be re-opened if necessary.
