Old Database?

Server Version#: 1.15.0.659

If I delete my old music library, how can I be sure to also delete any and all databases associated with the old library before creating a new library?

I recently deleted my music Library from Plex, then emptied trash, cleaned bundles, deleted the mp3 files from their storage drive, and then shutdown PMS. I then copied new files (with improved metadata) into the storage drive, started PMS and created a new library. In seems that some portion of the database from the original library:

date%20addes dateplayed

These images show date added, and date last played. Likewise, PMS shows total number of plays.

I want a complete fresh library, one that Plex in no way shape or form associates with the previous library or any of the mp3 files the two libraries share(d) in common.

Thank you.

This will remove everything:

Caution: Everything means everything. All playback statistics of all media. No matter whether they are music or movies or tv shows.

Thank you for the reply.

So there is no way to delete the database pertaining solely to my Music libraries, retaining everything for my movie and TV libraries?

I’m a little confused as to why this data was retained in the first place given the steps I took to delete and recreate the library. Is this how Plex is intended to function?

I have never had a single issue with my Movie and TV libraries, but Music has been a headache, including the issues described in this post: New Music Library Settings.

No.

It is intended to retain which movies were watched and which tv show episodes.
Regarding the ‘Added at’ date, I might have an idea:
After deleting the library, perform steps 3 and 4 of the
Plex Dance
This is supposed to remove any metadata about your music from the database.
Caution: this may take a while.
It is recommended, to optimize the Plex database afterwards.
