So is this the right one?
Can i just install the new Version ?
I did as You said ,delete user Plex and his home folder was deleted by the system but was empty I believe , (now still there is a folder Plex in the shared folders but this looks empty (should I delete this too ? ) anyway when I click right nothing has changed as the looking of the folder Photos in properties does not look like you operate from inside folder . it has the same look as outside . I tried also with giving PlexMediaServer read only or read and write to PlexMediaServer inside and outside the shared folder but nothing change , just no access to the photos , I wondering I may have deleted the previous foto folder which was almost empty and recreate a new one before charge new photos , may that is a problem?
This is where you will be reminded of the instructions to grant PlexMediaServer access to your media files.
Which “this” version?
1.21.1.3870 was released to Forum Preview today by me.
It contains multi-language support.
It also contains Plex Claim Token support for claiming the server.
CHUCK One thing I also saw is You got READ WRITE and EXECUTE , where I can have that mine are grey and I cannot modified it nope click over
Thanks! I am well aware of this part and I’ve followed the instructions. It works great for all pre-existing files on my Synology, but the ones added through LAN are not writable/erasable as I mentioned previously. I can fix things by re-applying RWX permissions manually. I probably to figure out a smarter way to upload files through SMB to correct the issue and allow them to be “deletable”.
Got it! I’ll install it.
Now i got 1.21.0.3744
i also got 1.21.0.3744
The question is whether I can and should install the new version without any problems.
Or should I wait because the current version works very well for me.
People. PLEASE UPDATE FFS.
uninstall 3744 – KEEP EXISTING
Install 3870
you won’t lose anything.
Synology changed the numbering after 3744. 3870 contains the numbering change.
Can I simply update the new version in the package manager or do I have to pay attention to something?
Where to Get 3870 ? from inside the Nas beta only can reinstall 3744
- Download the SPK which I posted in the Preview thread.
- Uninstall the existing package – Keep existing data (saves everything)
- Manual install 1.21.1.3870 SPK.
From this point forward, you’ll be good to Upgrade.
Will the database be preserved?
I just followed the process and it was pretty straightforward. When I accessed the PMS afterwards, it showed all my previous libraries.
Now… It took quite some time to display the content of what I have on my libraries, but but after some time it all came back. I’m not quite sure what was doing in the meanwhile, but it seemed to have been be quite busy.
So in essence, if you follow the instructions and uninstall with the first option (don’t delete the data) the PMS will have all your settings after you reinstall.
yes.
Everything is preserved.
What you’re getting in this update over that of 3744 is the core PMS updated to 1.211 as well.
It will contain PMS hot fixes.
I don’t delete anything during “Keep”. I only remove the package (like the DSM 6 days)
Ok, Thanks!
I need the version X86_64 (bit) with the Synology DS 920+ right?
