Since updates stared after 1 of July playback of channels started to give following errors on most of channels:
I have a differetnt issue. I have two machines running PMS One is a Qnap TVS-673e NAS and it is running tv shows Movies other Videos while the other is a old dell laptop (studio 1555) win 7 and it is used for live tv and dvr using haupppauge dual head. I had to use some generic EPG to be able to watch tv worked fine but only 5 channels matched but it worked fine exept 2 hd channel witch it didnt play most of the time but that is not the issue. Now i finally sorted the epg using webgrab all but 3 channels match but now it wont play any of the channels. I just get the Could not tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna Error even though the tuner works fine with its own app (win tv) I restarted all the machines but still the same error. HELP PLEASE. Did anyone have a same issue? @support
Let me start by saying I haven’t had this problem and am not an expert on this topic, but I have seen a lot of posts with this complaint since the switch to the new EPG. The resolution that is working for some is to delete their DVR and then re-add it. Proceed at your own risk - this process also has been a problem for some.
See this thread. I’m not going to be able to help if anything goes wrong - just hoping to point you towards others with the same problem and what they have found.
I deleted and created the dvr more than 150 times in the last week alone. I tried everything i could think of. I grabbed only one day only a few channels two days etc .The best i was able to do was to get only two channels to work out of 28 i enabled. Strange. The biggest question i have is why not enable live tv to play without epg? I made the dvr for my mom who is old and lives in Germany so that she could watch our TV since the landlord doesn’t allow a satellite dish. As it stands now she is put-off using plex for tv since the names are all wrong, not the epg data since she doesn’t really use plex well more of a point and click. And why cant plex grab epg using ota? I hear that a lot of country have not a good OTA epg but in Serbia the OTA EPG is great. This is a mystery for me since all the channels are known and published on https://www.dvbtmap.eu and all the data they need is availabe, tat least the could have listed my country … I am at a loss I have spent all this time to get webgrab to work and finallly all the channel names are correct but at best only two work
Yes, same situation here. Only two channels are working - other no. I think we are alone here - I’m from little country and probably no one of Plex support care about such little business area.
They are focused on Australia EPG issues and UK - far far biggest market.
Did you make your own epg via webgrab+?
I paid someone to take care of my epg issue and we figured out that channel id and name has to be one word and no spaces than everything works. that is a plex bug…stupid oversite. Still cant play hd channels thats also a plex issue but all works fine and epg is correct. You should try to use wrong epg to see if the channels work at all.
I used this epg for a month the names and guide were wrong but all channels played. http://tvprofil.net/xmltv/data/epg_tvprofil.net.xml
just try it if they all work than that is the issue and modify the config to have the channel name and display name only one word without spaces and all should work
Yes, I use webgrab++ tool to mage my own EPG. I tried your suggestion and yes, now all channels are playing without errors. Many many thanks for your advise. That fix the issue.

I’m no expert either but this problem does seem as though it has happened before in earlier versions of Plex.
I’m using Plex (PMS) v1.16.4.1469 on a Synology NAS, XPEnology DIY and a QNAP TS-451+. I’m also using an HDHomeRun Prime and HDHomeRun Quad.
I noticed that some scheduled recordings would fail but others went to completion. So I decided to manually tune to the channels that failed.
Unsurprisingly, tuning to those channels that failed (manually within PMS) often failed with the error pictured above and the same was true of many other test channels.
However, second and third attempts were made for those same failed channels and sometimes they did work.
So my theory is that PMS is giving up and yield errors for some channels that simply would work if the tuning attempt were not aborted so quickly.
If I am not mistaken this has happened before with Plex.
I could be wrong though.
If not then this is something that Plex devs can and should fix.
The plex devs are not exactly jumping to solve issues.
Are those channels that fail to tune more often than not HD?
I belive that they are because apart from the for mentioned EPG issue i haven’t had an issue with any of them. I have to set the transcoder to make my cpu hurt and in quality for home streaming convert to 480p than they play… most of the time. Stupid
And another thing I think is stupid, since i have a dedicated machine for live tv and dvr why cant quality be set for each individual server separatly so that i can downgrade the tv stream without affecting the main media server quality. That should be easy enough to fix but as i said they arent really jumping to fix things. Many many bugs and so few fixes

yes, the new version working fine with spaces in channels, however I still have many channels with “Unknown Airing” in timeline. When I click on them I got the same error " Could not tune channel… etc " So for me the problem is not solved.
Unknown Airing is shown if there is a gap in the guide data.
You can do a manual refresh to update plex media server data - settings / server / live tv and DVR
If the gaps remain, check your XMLTV data fir any gaps for the channels showing that
With regards to tuning errors, have you completed a recent channel scan - and which transponders list are you using for setup / scan channels within plex ? Maybe some frequencies changed ?
