Plex 1.13.5.5332 Crashing 1-2 times a Day on Synology DS918+

okay no logs needed if everything is good after upgrade, as well as logs.zip im assuming

so ya know during a DSM upgrade @ChuckPa

Upgrade to 6.2 update 2 successful and complete

Some of the DSM updates don’t restart. DSM 6.2 U1 -> U2 doesn’t here.

gotcha, it rebooted for me each time. i am up to date now though ^

Good news @ChuckPa

Plex has not crashed on 13.2 after upgrading to 6.2 update 2 DSM!

It was steady over the whole weekend

Good.

Let’s continue a few more days of you exercising it in all the different ways you use it.

At some future point, we will step up to current release (which includes changes & fixes), to see if we can sustain this stability

okay sounds good

@ChuckPa Still all good on my end, no crashes

SHHHHHH

Don’t tell it that! You’ll jinx it! :smiley:

hahaha i know right

@ChuckPa I’ve had a couple crashes this week

You think its time to upgrade to the latest plex now that i am running the latest DSM version?

If it crashes, why update?

1.13.4 is the most reliable bar none on Synology DSM 6.2

im running 13.2 currently, the file you gave me
@ChuckPa

My G-drive to 1.13.4

thanks i got it.

Should i do an upgrade or an uninstall and install 1.13.4?

@ChuckPa

@ChuckPa what do you think ^

I do not understand why yours is crashing. This is not the norm.

What other apps are you running on the NAS?
Has it suffered any sudden power loss?
When was the last data scrub?

Hey @ChuckPa

Is there a way to send logs to you direct? Mine has been crashing also, almost daily now. Sometimes Plex will crash entirely, and upload a crash debug. More often then not users complain they loose access but i can still see its processes running.

If i provide crash submissions references can you take a look?

I have just rolled back to PlexMediaServer-1.13.2.5154-fd05be322-x86_64.spk from your repository so will see how it fairs.

Thanks

Yes.
Please include the link to this thread (the forum should do that), with your logs ZIP attaached.
