Plex app on LG TV says Network Unavailable on LAN

Hi, I don’t have access to the public internet until monday because of my ISP but I got a bit confused when my plex app on my LG TV stopped to work. It says that network is unavailable. I cannot do anything because I can’t go through this screen that shows this text. Should’nt plex work offline as long as everything on LAN is working?

I did add my subnet to network settings on my server under “List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth”.

Should plex app not work when I don’t have access to internet? The tv is connected by ethernet and status shows that it is fine. It works through DLNA…

Your LG using WebOS and as the name implies the app does not reside on your TV. What on your TV is a loader. The following explanation should cover all your questions.

Thanks, I missed this but that is a shame. Basically this goes for all smart tv it seems. I wonder if it works vetter on nvidia shield

Good question, as it is connected via HDMI to TV and if used as a server. But hold off on a possible purchase for now, there is a lot forum noise about all things android at present. I believe it will be fixed up not long into the New Year. Cross your fingers

Only go for Pro model if it comes to that…
