Thank you for your logs.
You have placed media INSIDE the PlexMediaServer shared folder.

DO NOT DO THIS!!! This is why Plex is crashing.
I wrote the “Do not place media here” messages in 6 different languages.
Create a new shared folder, or use the old “Plex” shared folder if you have it, to put your media in.
I have “Movies”, “TV” and “Music” shared folders.
Do you mean “shared folder” the folder that has the movies and series and all the media I download? This file must not be placed inside PlexMediaServer?
Wow, I’ve been doing this with plex for over a year and this is the first time it’s happened to me
I saw a guide that this is how it should be done and since then I have done it this way
Yes.
I’ve also seen
I have a shared folder named “Media”
I have all my media in sub-folders under “Media”
It makes it very easy to mount the one shared folder then access the sub-folders.
Where do you place the plex shared folder on the NAS? Because previously I tried to place outside the PlexMediaServer folder and it didn’t recognize the media even though I set the location
You create the shared folder on any volume you want.
Then, and this is what you missed (the message after every package install)
Thank you very much, you have updated me a lot! I’m going to read this guide
Now I transfer all the files that were in PlexMediaServer to another folder and then I can check if the problem has been resolved, I still have 40 minutes of transfer left after about 1.5TB
I will update if the problem is resolved after I have removed the shared folder from PlexMediaServer
I deleted all the folders and plex still crashes, is it better to delete PlexMediaServer and do a new and clean installation?
Hi, updating that I was able to delete Plex Media Server and install a clean new installation via Plex Claim Token and linked the server to my existing account
I opened a new folder for movies in \MyNas\home\plex\Movies
And I gave it the permissions as you explained, the plex works fine but the problem now is that it doesn’t recognize the files even though I gave it read and write permissions
You can’t use the Homes
service on Synology.
In Linux, that is an area only you can access. PlexMediaServer is a different user and Linux rules are very strict about that.
As I previously recommended, create a shared folder for your media with sub-folders and move the media there.
Using the How-To I also linked give PlexMediaServer access (This Folder, sub-folders, and files checkbox is IMPORTANT)
Lastly, MAP the shared folder to your Windows computer. Ignore the ‘homes’ folder mapping for anything media related.
