Plex DVR Won't Record Series in HD

Using Plex DVR with Freeview in the UK. When I record from a channel like BBC1, BBC2, Channel 4 etc that has the same channel in both SD or HD it always picks the SD channel to record from rather than the HD one.
If I select “HD only” it doesn’t record the show at all!
However, the EPG is fine as has the shows on both channels, and if I manually record something on the HD channel or watch it live it works fine so I know the HD channel tunes in OK.
Is there any way to fix this, I’d like Plex to record the HD content when it is available not the SD one?

Note: I used to have a different tuner with Freesat instead of Freeview (DVB-S instead of DVB-T2) and didn’t have this problem then. The main difference I can think of since switching is that unlike on Freesat, with Freeview the HD channels use AVC instead of MPEG2, so perhaps that’s something to do with it? Or else perhaps its unrelated and just that the older version of Plex I used to use at that time (6 months ago) didn’t have this bug?

It’s a bug (apparently) reported by a number of users.

I believe the work around is to set up the series recording for the specific HD channel that you want.

Had the same issue. That’s how I have it set up now. Not great for shows that air across different networks but it works for majority of my shows.

Thanks, I tried this now but unfortunately it didn’t work for me. It did give me an idea though for a workaround which did work - I disabled the SD version of the channel, then set the EPG number for the SD version against the HD channel.
e.g. Prior:
4 -> Ch4
104->CH4HD
Now:
4->Disabled
104->Ch4.

This seems to work for now.
Is anyone from Plex aware and working on a full fix however?

There appears to be an issue and I have been investigating on this forum topic Plex HDHomerun DVR “HD Only” resolution not working

I now have the right diagnostics to refer it to the development team

Plex Media Server 1.14.1.5487 has just been released as Beta. It has a fix for the HD Only issue where it gets ignored when selected for scheduled recordings
