FYI all, after receiving no updates in here I added a note to the Streaming Devices section of the forum and got this response:
Sorry, everyone we still don’t have a solution yet. To provide some background, this issue is a result of a change we made to the music player that fixed an issue that was causing distortion on various devices. The fix for that has resulted in this issue. The devs are trying various things but so far one fix brakes the other. They hope to find a solution soon.
