Hi!
Is it the same issue as mine?

Hi yes it seems like it’s the same issue )-: I’ve since ordered a roku ultra I’m hoping will be better anyways. Would still like the LG App fixed though!

I really hope someone answers, since we are not the only ones. I am following all the pertinent topics and until now no one from Plex showed up.

As this player does not have much support now, I would purchase a Roku, ATV or Shield going forward

Actually, my player has been updated last April (it’s 5.something) and I guess the issues started then.

What your model LG? Is it a UHD model?

No, it’s an OLED 55EC930V.

If that the case your Tv is not compatible with Plex client in 5+ versions. I would suggest starting a discussion with your information and check out the following link with updates over the last year or so.

Thank you. I have tried starting a discussion, but nobody from Plex answered.

Can you please go to server settings/ Authorized Devices and report back with your Player Version.
WebOS is not Player version

Thank you for pointing that out, you are right.
It is weird, because it says 3.13.28 but if I go to LG Store it says it’s 5.0.1 and it has been updated on 14/04/2021.

The LG client is a Web App and what you see in LG app store is just a Loader only.

So you are on the old LG client which has no or very little support. You may need to look at a Box like Apple Tv or Shield or much more expensive alternative and upgrade to OLED UHD.

For simplicity sake an Apple TV and Infuse, if you need more Compatibility with Audio.

If thinking a Firestick, think again

Thank you for the answer.

But why did it happen? I mean, it worked. I don’t want another power-consuming device. This makes no sense. And I appreciate your help, but why nobody from Plex answers?

No longer supported I’m sorry

That’s too bad. I did not care that I did not receive any new feature since… I guess 2018… but I was hoping that basic features as these were going to keep working. I really cannot understand why they do not anymore.
Thanks for your help. If only Plex official support were so helpful!

It like any software support, it is only there to Devices that are current or recently current. Your device is no longer main stream unfortunately. If you like, not as smart as newer models… Lol
The new LG Plex app uses different Technology which the older TV or none UHD could not process.
I faced the same when my older OLED with WebOS 1.4 was no longer supported a few years ago.

Lucky or unlucky it died, so I replaced the TV with a New OLED UHD with a strong Picture processor.
If you buy a low powered Box which most are nowdays, to suit your TV Resolution (Secondhand) or future proof a lot more years with up to a capable 4K Resolution maybe the way to go. Standby on devices can be a low 0.5 Watt and 5-10 watt active. That will only amount to a few dollars a year.

Sorry to be bearer of bad news, you now have to make a decision moving forward.

Cheers
