Plex for Windows not starting

Server Version#: 1.19.5.3112
Player Version#: 1.17.0.1376-439f8b7f

After updating to the latest “Plex for Windows” plex is not showing up. I can see the task idling in the task manager. The folders for logs are created but the logs are empty.

I tried:

  • Reinstalling
  • Manual uninstall and reinstall
  • Manual uninstall and reinstall with deleting manually all folders and registry entries

PMP does start up.

Sounds similar to another reported case - could you do a list directory of the logs directory showing the file size and date / time created And also get a process dump of the hung process after launch

This are the files created in %LOCALAPPDATA%/Plex/Logs

Process dump:

Thank you - it is similar to the one I looked into for Plex for Mac here

The process seems to be hung - something to do with getting the System Locale

I have added your dump to the existing open issue

Thanks

I got a workaround. Its a QT bug: https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-84275

Until Plex is built with QT 5.15 make sure that you are not using the same character for decimal places and thousands seperators for floating point numbers. See bugreport in keepass:

@Lucas-Alber Many thanks for the feedback. I have passed it to the development team
