Server Version#: 4.59.2
Player Version#: I Cann’t find the player version
I have a Synology NAS DS1517+. I updatet my NAS to DSM 7 and I updatet Plex to the latest version of Plex, the DSM 7 version. Since then Plex doesn’t defect / find my NAS. I set the permissions with the System Internal User on the Plex folder.
Please explain what you mean by “confict”?
In DSM 7, Synology now prints a red warning on ALL third party packages.
We have tested PMS on every platform which runs DSM 7.
If you can explain more, I’ll be able to help you get it running.
The package itself will print messages in Dutch if DSM 7 is configured for Dutch else it will print messages in English.
I tried to update DSM to version 7. That is not possible because I got the error message that MariaDB (a third-party app) was installed. I have tried to remove MariaDB. Unfortunately that was not successful. I got the error message that the package service could not be started. That’s why I submitted a ticket to Synoloy Support. They indicated to hard reset my NAS via the reset button. This will remove all apps. I did this and updated my NAS to DSM 7. That worked. Now I’m trying to install Plex. That also worked, but when I open the app I don’t see my NAS.
I just looked at your account. I see that the “DiskStation” server hasn’t been seen by Plex.tv in 22 days.
I removed that from the account listing (temporarily) so we can get you started up again
Please confirm:
Your Synology NAS and your computer are using the same RFC-1918 LAN network (192.168.x.x, 172.16.x.x - 172.31.x.x, or 10.x.x.x ) ?
If true –
a. Close and reopen the browser
b. Download and install the new packaging (2.0). it is more flexible
c. If it finds your Plex data sitting on the volume it will do everything it can automatically if possible.
d. If your data is in the Plex share, it will want to ‘migrate’ . I will assist with that if you need it.
If not, we will need to Claim the server as a second step after it is migrated. We use the “Plex Claim Token” for that.
Please let me know where you are at in the process at this point and how you’d like to proceed.
1.Yes, I am using 192.168.x.x LAN Network.
2.What do you mean by new packaging (2.0.)? I cann’ t find it on the Plex site. I am using the PlexMediaServer-1.24.1.4931-1a38e63c6-aarch64_DSM7 package.
3.I installed Plex again. I used a normal installation the first time. The second time I used a token. Both options are not working. It says: You Donn’t have permissions.
I have a last question. I have set that if Plex adds movies, Dutch subtitles should be downloaded. This does not work. Either no subtitles will be downloaded or English language will be downloaded
Then I have to manually set the subtitles to Dutch for every film. That’s a lot of work because I have a lot of movies. Before I had problems, the subtitles were automatically set to Dutch when I added a movie. I need to troubleshoot more.
