Plex Media player starts track, no sound no progression 1.23.1.4602 at fault

Hello.
I have this laptop dedicated to play music only and has Plex app installed.
It was working fine until this morning… I did an upgrade on my server yesterday night… did Plex break something again?
I was at 1.22.xxx before last night

I can browse properly my libraries but if I try to play something, on music I see the progression bar but it does not move, the time does not change and no sound is heard.
On videos I have the rotating thingy ad-nauseam.

When I go check my server it says that xxx client (my laptop) is playing that track.

My roku in the bedroom (different user) is fine.
My phone (same user as my laptop) is fine too so I don’t think it’s user related.

Any ideas?

I just downgraded back to PMS 1.22.3.4392

All is fine again, didn’t even had to restart anything so, yeah, Plex broke something in that new version.

And by the way, I have two laptops with the same setup and both presented the problem. Now both are fixed.

Just wanted to say thank you for posting. I had the same problem where PMP on Windows 7 could not play anything. All other players/platforms working fine. Your solution, rolling back to PMS 1.22.3.4392, got things working again. Thank you!

Does anybody know if that has been fixed with the latest release?

So… nothing? I read the release notes since then and I saw nothing related to that fix… I don’t want to go and install the latest version just to find out I have to revert again.
