You don’t use Plex anymore but still comment in the forums? 
The only major change required from DSM 6 → 7 was to switch the username from plex → PlexMediaServer as documented.
As for permissions on DSM 7 – Thank Synology for changing everything.
DSM 7.2 reset most everything .
