Thank you for all your help. I need to go to sleep now. I am hoping you are around tomorrow. I am in Arizona time. Bill
I am at my computer. Will you be able to help me?
This same thing happened to me. I did an update on my Qnap TS-451 NAS, and suddenly all my apps stopped seeing the media server. Canāt access on the TV, canāt access on my phone, or in the web app. They all just say my server is unavailable. I changed no settings, and Iāve been spinning my wheels trying to figure this out, and nothing on any of the support artcles have helped me. Iāve installed the latest Plex Media Server qpkg, Iāve restarted my server twice, Iāve stopped and started the plex application on my NAS a few times. Nothing works. I was able to see my library for about 10 seconds after I stopped and started the application the first time, but then it just disappeared again and I havenāt been able to get it back. Thereās nothing wrong with my server. I have the drive mapped and I can see all my movies and music, and I can play them with a media player on my computer. Can anybody help?
May I help?
When you attempt to open Plex by opening the QNAP via itās IP address (http://ip.addr.of.qnap:32400/web), does the Plex/web client load or do you get a complete failure to load anything?
Complete failure. I get a message āThis site canāt be reachedā āERR_CONNECTION_REFUSEDā
Suddenly, I can see my library again. I havenāt been able to see my library in days, and now when I come on here to ask for help, it randomly connects. Itās up and running now. Soā¦Iām good now. I appreciate the prompt response.
The database was upgraded.
One thing observed, which wasnāt overly emphasized in the release notes, is how long it takes from when PMS is upgraded until the Database upgrade is completed.
It would be really nice if PMS had a display page āPMS is performing internal maintenance, please stand byā.
Ah, OK. Thanks so much!!!
I should be so lucky. I still cannot see my library. It now sees my Qnap but no library. I started to rebuild but I really need to find another app like Plex that either has support so if something happens I can get my data back. The hardest thing about this is that I lost the many hours of time put in to building playlists.
Would you please do the following
- Stop Plex
- Create a shared folder named
PlexData
(exact capitalization) anywhere you want - Start PMS , Let it run 1 minutes, then Stop PMS one more time.
- Open FileStation ā PlexData/Plex Media Server
- Right-click āLogsā ā Compress (to make the ZIP file)
- When itās complete, download it
- Attach the ZIP file here so I may review whatās happening
I will. Donāt be confused by the same server āQnap3ā showing twice. The one that does not connect is where all my original playlists are. That is the one i need. The other āQnap3ā just started to show up 2 days ago. I started to load that but only made a few playlists. I donāt want to invest the time. Plex shows different things depending on ho and where I open it from. I will pick one and do what you suggest.
I will look at what Plex.tv knows of your server(s).
Weāll find where things are on your machine and get PMS reconnected to that data if itās still there. (It should be unless deleted)
Did you, at any point, use the QNAP āMigrate toā function or did you have App Center āRemoveā (uninstall) PMS ?
You did not name it as I asked.
PlexData
please.
(The start / stop control scripts are sensitive to that naming)
It appears, using the structure you have
Library/Plex Media Server
Under Plex Media Server
is where youāll find Logs
I removed it in the app center then reinstalled.
I believe the database and playlists are on my desktop in appdata local. I have 2 backups from 01/07/22. Can I restore those?
com.plexapp.plugins.library.blobs.db-2022-01-07
com.plexapp.plugins.library.db-2022-01-07
I found these in appdata - local - Plex Media Server on my c drive on my desktop I would be happy if i could restore back to the 7th of January.
These might be it, no?
May I see the log files please?
There is no āappdataā on QNAP. Are you referring to Windows?
I sometimes used Plex through the internet and not through the app in Qnap. The data still pointed to the Qnap but the Plex info is probably in appdata local
Where is your Plex server running on? Windows or QNAP ?
I am not referring to your media ; thatās probably on the QNAP
