I am having an issue with my media server to do with Plex Media Server not picking up new eppisodes, which have all been named correctly
the TV show i am having issue with is Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger, every time i add a new episode, Plex goes through it’s scanning routine but does not pick the new episode up but picks up all other episodes i have added.
I have checked the logs, but i am unable to figure out what is causing this has just starting and i am not doing anything different.
the episode in question is Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger - S02E04 - Rabbit Hold
the strange thing is, if i create a new library, it picks it up straight away
I can only discern from your logs that the episode in question was already known to Plex, for whatever reason

So, it appears that this file was added previously, but was probably recognized/matched as a different episode.
The Plex Dance should help clearing up such issues.
I just had a quick look at the Plex Dance thread, I have already done this with the previous episode (S02E03) as this done exactly the same, this was the only way i could think of to fix it, as i thought it was just a one off glitch, but now it has happened to the next episode also.
very strange, looks like i will have to do the Dance again then, lol
If you do it too often, you can end up with mismatches if a file was just in the process of being copied while the scan was running
or
you end up with ‘false duplicates’ when two scans run simultaneously.
Settings - Server - Library
Enable only either ‘automatic’ or ‘periodic’ library scans.
And if you have either of these activated, don’t trigger the library update manually.
It also looks like you did put some epsiodes into the wrong season folder
We found a hash match for [G:\Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger\Season 02\Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger - S01E10 - Colony Collapse.avi] which was [G:\Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger\Season 01\Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger - S01E10 - Colony Collapse.avi]
I did put an episode from season 1 into season 2 deliberately just to see if it would pick it up, i will remove it once it has picked it up. My settings are set to run a partial scan when changes are detected (only on the folder that has been changed)
The Plex Media Server did pick up the episode that i copied to that folder, so it is doing what it is meant to do, it just will not pick up new episodes that have been added to that TV show, I will do the dance again and see if it happens to the next new episode i add to it next Friday, as the next episode airs next Thursday night i think.
