Plex Scrab Service totally out in Mainland China

I suggest you learn from Emby and jellyfin. On the login page, you can choose to log in with your account or connect to the domain name server. You can manually add the domain name address (domain name address, not IP address) and authenticate through our own server. The server is charged, so why does the client need to authenticate?

I have the same problem in Beijing, and I strongly recommend that the official plex can provide the option to set up a proxy, and only need to provide a proxy option for scraping.

I have noticed an issue with the Remote Access feature. For those experiencing the same problem, please exclude the following domains from your SSR tool:
v4.plex.tv
*.amazonaws.com
*.plex.direct

If you want to continue using the Plex proxy as the metadata server, please configure the following domains to require SSR tool access:
downloads.plex.tv
metadata-static.plex.tv
metadata.provider.plex.tv
meta.plex.tv

Aside from this, there doesn’t seem to be a better solution!

Currently, users of Android devices are also affected, as the startup time can take up to 1 minute due to the inability to receive a response from the Plex server! For certain decoders (such as DTS E-AAC, which require online downloads), there might be issues like no sound.

The long startup time can only be resolved by turning off Wi-Fi and mobile data when launching the app, skipping the startup screen, and then turning the network back on.

iOS users do not experience these issues. It is hoped that when the Android app is updated, the developers will allow users to skip waiting for a response from the Plex server and go directly to the interface.

Meanwhile, Plex Media Server may experience issues with transcoding and playing certain video formats on some cloud-based transcoders.

May I ask when the issue of being unable to log in on Android devices in mainland China will be resolved?

刮削的问题不是重点,主要是登录服务器特别是安卓手机每次登录都需要几分钟才能进去,能不能添加选项直接链接自己的服务器类似emby,或者啥时候能恢复正常The problem of scraping is not the focus. The main thing is to log in to the server, especially the Android phone. It takes a few minutes to log in every time. Can you add an option to directly link to your own server similar to emby, or when will it return to normal?

You don’t need to wait any longer, plex officials will not solve the problem for this small group, our domestic people still use emby together.

Jellyfin is also good. I am using it now. Although the interface is a bit ugly, it can connect in seconds and it is free.

I have lost confidence in PLEX

Okay, I’ll give it a try. If this software has great potential, I would recommend it to my friends

I have started looking at the implementation of a proxy setting but it’s not completely trivial as there are a few factors that need to be considered. I also don’t have much time to work on this as this is not something we planned for.

I’ll be looking at again tomorrow and hopefully can come to some solution that could help in the interim, but it won’t be with the next release but I may be able provide custom builds for those in the thread to try out.

I agree that proxy should only be used as last resort, that is the least I wanna mess with on my current NAS.

Thank you very much for your reply. I understand that this issue is not your fault, but it has arisen and is affecting the entire Chinese region. I sincerely hope that you can take this issue seriously, and we will actively cooperate with your solution plan. Thank you again.

Can detect mainland China is walled domain name or IP, if the IP wall can replace the HZ or amazon resolution test

still not working,so sad

I also have the same problem, the server scraping cannot produce anything, and even the intranet browser web end cannot be logged in. It should be because Plex.tv needs to verify when logging in, but the Plex.tv website cannot be opened, so it is impossible to log in to the server normally. It greatly affects the user experience of Plex. I hope to add the function of custom agent as soon as possible to solve the problem of no access in Chinese Mainland. Thank you.

Any update from Cloud FLare? Still not woking

I’m from Shanghai Telecom user. Starting from the evening of August 18th, the problem became serious. I request to open a refund registration channel for a lifetime pass user. I only purchased a lifetime pass two months ago.

Seriously, the China Firewall is a major problem for not only this but about every other business who has locations in China. Every time you fix it, someone in the Chinese government breaks it, again. Blame their government. At work, there is no piece of network equipment I cuss about more than that damn Chinese firewall.

It seems that all the technology will eventually be used to make things difficult for the grassroots people. fuak。天天琢磨刁难平民,操.
