Plex Server Hanging on Detecting Intros

Server Version#: 1.29.0.6244
Player Version#: 4.87.2
I have Plex running on windows using network shares on a synology NAS. I have 2 Plex servers (primary and secondary) accessing same content. The issue is only happening on the primary currently (both are the same OS).

Issue: When adding to tv shows and after scanning libraries it will detect the new content fine but when detecting intros it will hang and sit for hours and eventually crash the Plex service. If I close the Plex service and re-scan it is fine. I have removed and re-installed Plex, changed to older versions and cleaned/updated the systems OS, issue still persists. I am not sure what else to check, any help or advice is greatly appriciated.

Thank you.

How much free space is on the system drive?

Is there anti virus software running?

Hello, the system drive (OS) has about 150gb free, the NAS storage attached has about 21 tb with 14 free. The only AV running is the built in windows defender.

Maybe this is of interest: Intros not always automatically detected, Force Analyze doesn't always work, Plex Dance does - #2 by OttoKerner

Thank you for the link, I will check it out and let you know how it goes.

Having the same issue, after the latest beta update.

Have enough space
Tried manually analyzing the show
No AV running
Plex Dance done
This was working prior to 1.29.1.6260

I followed the steps in the link and I am still having the same issue.

I just wanted to reply, I fixed my issue. Did some digging online a found an older post. What fixed it for me was going to any show and clicking “Optimize” (I just did 1 episode). It showed as “Paused” in Settings → Conversions, I clicked resume and let it complete. After that I was able to scan TV shows and it detected all the intros in a few min with no issues.
