I’ve been using Plex for years & got a new PC. I’ve downloaded the Plex Server, but it won’t recognize my PC. Under “My Media” it just says to “Get Plex Media Server”.
Any assist would be appreciated.

I have even unintalled & re-enstalled.
Sounds like your server is still linked to the old setup… you might need to remove some of the special settings in the Registry to get over that behavior:
This occasionally happens if you miss a step in the server migration support article…
Thanks for the tip. I removed the entries as suggested & ran the repair. When I Launch Plex, I still get the Your Media, and the message to “Get Plex Media Server”. I still does not see my computer.
I did a restart , after the repair.
Any other thoughts?

This is the screen I get. (& under my account, I no longer see all the options, like displaying the logs, etc.
In addition, I just uninstalled the Plex Server, and created another user under another email, & the same thing happens. I downloaded the Plex Server, launced, and there is no recognition of my computer.

IVe had a working Plex server up and running for a year. All of a sudden its not working proper as the tv cant find it and i cant add any files or folders. Same issue as Dlandon had. Any ideas

Deleted registry keys for Plex in HKLM\Software\WOW6432node & and HKCU\Software
Fixed for me
