Confirmed. 1900 is working for me.
Confirmed 1900 also worked for me, downloaded file from Plex website, did NOT need to uninstall Plex and downgrade.to earlier version
I have Version 1.18.0.1906 installed. So far working fine. Running on synology 918+
Same here. The previous version 1.18.0.1900 was working fine. The version 1.18.0ā¦1906
fails to start. Fix please
Please provide additional info.
I have 1.18.0.1906 installed (just now) operating correctly on DS-1815+
Iām using ds214play
Now Iāve unistalled the last version e installed 1.18.0.1900 and the server back to work
Hey, this one builds and runs! Does anyone from Plex care to share why the footprint of Plex has been changing size so much?
The package has expanded greatly over the last couple of builds and now this one is a good bit smaller than the previous one. Iām more interested in what youāve taken away in the last one than what you previously added.
Hello, same here. 1906 doesnāt start on DS415play. Also after deinstalling, rebooting, installing again still no start possible. Seems to be a permission issue:
This is the log:

Can you explain how to get hold of an older version? Moderators keep removing the links from the forum which makes it tricky to find.
@chriseboy and @pasqualito_23 Here is the previous 1846
Thanks Wingman
Thanks chrisallen, it works again
I skipped 1906 in the menu so letās wait for a fixā¦
I upgraded from 1.17.something to 1.18.0.1906 today on my FreeNAS, and itās working fine but it lost all my watched history!
I tried to restore the Plug-in Support/Databases/com.plexapp.plugins.db from the latest backup, but then Plex wouldnāt start at all, so I guess something major changed in the database between these versions. Any ideas how to get my watched history back? Downgrading sounds like one option, but not a very good one
I was wrong, itās not working fine and isnāt just a problem with the watched history, since nothing will play either and screens are loading slow, ugh
Whew, luckily downgrading was a lot easier than I thought since the PMS_Updater.sh script I used to do the upgrade saves a backup copy in /usr/local/share/plexmediaserver.bak, so I was able to just stop plex, move the live copy to a backup folder and then moved the backed up copy to the live location and started Plex back up. All good now and will wait awhile before attempting to upgrade again!
Would you care to enlighten please?
I thought since the PMS_Updater.sh script I used to do the upgrade saves a backup copy in /usr/local/share/plexmediaserver.bak,
Sure, whenever I upgrade Plex, I run PMS_Updater.sh like:
./PMS_Updater.sh -a -v -u phast1
Inside that script, there is an applyUpdate() function that does a few things, including taking a backup, like this:
mv $PMSPARENTPATH/$PMSLIVEFOLDER/ $PMSPARENTPATH/$PMSBAKFOLDER/ 2>&1 | LogMsg
So, I just checked the beginning of the script to see where those folder locations were, which ended up being in /usr/local/share, so I just stopped plex, and then moved the upgraded copy to a new backup folder and then moved the backed up copy to the live location, and started plex back up, like this:
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/plexmediaserver_plexpass stop
mv /usr/local/share/plexmediaserver /usr/local/share/plexmediaserver.bak-failed
mv /usr/local/share/plexmediaserver.bak /usr/local/share/plexmediaserver
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/plexmediaserver_plexpass start
Hope it helps!
You do realize, by doing this, you are completely bypassing everything I do in the postinstall routine which is subject to change for every version?
PMS should always be installed in /var/package/Plex Media Server through the Package Center.
I cannot support it if not installed that way because I have no idea what has been done.
If your script wants to use the Synology package installer from a shell script, I can live with that. It guarantees my routines run.
