PLEX stops running

  3. Manually update to the latest version of Plex. The version you are running is over a year old.

  1. Do not place your media in the /Plex shared folder. It will keep your Plex installation from working correctly. The messages saying “don’t put media here” are there for a reason. See the Installation & Setup document for other locations to avoid.

Using local file path instead of URL: /volume1/Plex/Plex TV Shows/Friends/The Best Of Friends Volume 03/THE BEST OF FRIENDS VOL 3_t01.mkv

  1. Name your media correctly. Naming media incorrectly may prevent Plex from correctly recognizing it and matching it with online databases. Plex is especially picky with TV shows.
