Plex Synology Package Times Out Each Time After Manually Running

Server Version#: DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 5
Player Version#: 1.40.5.8897-7000

This is a Synology DS414 that I’ve run Plex on for a couple years. I recently updated to the newest version of Plex, and I am having problems with the package ‘stopping’ on its own. I manually Run the package through the package center, and Plex will work for approximately 20-30 minutes. I can start a show/movie on a client and it works fine. However, after that time, it will no longer work on the client, and the package will show as stopped on the Synology package center. I have to manually restart the package, but it never stays running.

I’ve tried to downgrade to an older Plex build, but it won’t allow me. Is this a Synology setting issue or an update issue? I could not find any other information on other users having similar problems.

Please disregard, I did not see the other tread discussing this issues.

There is a bug in 1.40.5 on ARMv7 based systems: New PMS Version 1.40.5.8854 stops running after some minutes on Synology DS215j

A workaround is to fall back to 1.40.4.

You must uninstall the current version then install the earlier version. Synology does not support direct fallback. See FAQ 8: Uninstalling PMS - Reverting to a previous version.

You can also disable View State syncing on your account. If you share libraries with others, they may have to disable it on their account as well.
