Plex Tidal Account not linked

Yes, I have read the documentation and also related linked items, specially the ones that refer to “Account not linked”.

I have tried:

  • Re-authorizing Tidal
  • Upgrading to the HiFi Plan
  • Re-authorizing Tidal again (after the upgrade)
  • Restarting the plex media server.
  • Changing to a different player (like the TV and my phone)
  • Upgrading the plex media server to the latest version
  • Re-authorizing Tidal again after updating plex
  • Made sure my email is the same on both services (it was always the case)

And yet, plex still complaints that my account is not linked.

Every time I re-authorized it (I’ve done it at least 10 times already) it will send me an email saying it is linked, but it is not. I keep getting the same message.

And yes, I am a plex pass user (have been for the last 5 years or so).

What is complaining? (i.e. which client type)
When is it complaining? (when doing what action)

As per the attached screenshot. I can’t access Tidal from within Plex Player. It tells me that error (the one I typed out as the title of the support request).

Which “Plex player” is this?
If it is the web app, is it the “local” web app (http://127.0.0.1:32400/web) or the “hosted” web app (https://app.plex.tv).
Which web browser is used? Are there any web browser add-ins activated?

Happens everywhere I’ve tested (including mobile app) but as I am in the computer right now, it is happening on https://app.plex.tv

I tried on Chrome on an incognito window (no browsers) and still doesn’t work. Normal window (with addons enabled or disabled) does not work either.

Here is a slight modification of the procedure.
Unless you did it already exactly like that, please try it:

  1. Go to your https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/online-media-sources account page and disable the Music/TIDAL provider
  2. On your https://plex.tv/users/other-services account page, unlink TIDAL, and then link it fresh
  3. Back on the Online Media Sources page, enable the Music/TIDAL provider again
  4. Wait 10 minutes for changes to propagate
  5. Restart (e.g. force-quit and launch) the player app
