yes, this. I’ve tried edge and chrome, fallback to insecure connections, enabling and disabling direct play/stream and nothing
Hey, are the new features, like Sweet fades and volume leveling only available to admin user of the server? I have a Plex pass on the “admin” account so that should enable it for my home users right?
They should be available to all Plex Pass users. So yes, your home users (note: not friends, just people in your home) should have access as well. Afaik, Tidal doesn’t fully support sweet fades yet, unless plex has indexed their entire catalog.
Ah ok, I’ll try again, I’m sure the app tried to get me to buy Plex pass on my user for watching stuff, could be a beta app thing, I’ll open a thread there see what they say
Where can we report bugs with the Tidal integration? I linked my previous Tidal account and started a song from the middle of my playlist. At the end of the song instead of playing the next song in the playlist, it jumped to the very first song in the playlist even though shuffle is off. The queue confirms it also. Is this behavior expected or a bug? Will have to go back to the Tidal app for now.
So is the Tidal integration only for web and mobile. No love for the Roku?
Android TV is included as well in the initial release. We are definitely pushing to get this on more platforms soon, Roku included
What is the point of rating tracks/albums/artist on the Tidal library, within Plex? There doesn’t seem to be any sorting capabilities integrated with my main library yet.
Big heavy sigh… There is also no Roku app for Tidal. I was hoping this was a way of getting it on the Roku. So looks like no Tidal after free trial .
IMO this should have been launched with Tidal
Add MQA processing/unfolding
Long time Plex Pass holder who added a Tidal HiFi subscription in May to use Tidal with Roon. I was able to link my Plex account to Tidal and am able to play Tidal content from Chrome on Windows 10 as well as from my nVidia Shield using the latest Android TV.
Some questions:
-
When I click on my Music library using the Artist sort I see the 53 artists in my local library. When I check in Roon I see 191 artists which includes the 138 artists whose albums I have added on Tidal using Roon. Is there a way for those 138 artists to be displayed in my Music library so I can drill down and see all the interesting information Plex shows for an artist including the display of an artist’s Tidal albums?
-
When I select Tidal under Online Content and then select My Tidal it defaults to Artist By Title and tells me there are no items in this library. If I change the sort to Albums By Title I see between 380 and 393 albums depending on when I try with some attempts not showing a count nor listing all albums. Why do I not see any artists when I have 380+ Tidal albums?
-
Can the default sort when I choose My Tidal be changed so I can use Album By Title assuming there is not a quick fix to get all the artists in my local and Tidal library to display when I click on My Tidal?
Thanks … Tim
Tried the feature, a big disapointment.
Wasn’t it about fixing the current bugs and making sure we focus on the core features? Refering to the blogpost a few months back.
I thought for a second we somehow could bolster our library with songs from tidal.
But a second library that makes our own local one a dublicate…?.. Also at this point I need a feature to disable features like tidal, podcast etc for everyone on the server. it’s just confusing and overloaded at this point.
I don’t understand why this is even useful? Why would I use this instead of the Tidal app? The only benefit would have been to integrate it with my existing music library but that is not the case.
unlink tidal and link again, I think you changed the password to tidal and didnt update plex.
We will show content from TIDAL on your artist pre-play screens. It will show any albums for that artist you may not have (that are on TIDAL’s catalog) as well as recommendations for other similar artists and music videos if available.

You can use artist radios which will mix content from your library and TIDAL. You can also create playlists that mix items from both TIDAL and your server.
We’ll be making integration better going forward so please let us know if there is something specific that you’d like to see us implement.
- At the moment, your My TIDAL content and your local PMS content is saved in separate locations (the provider and your music library). We hope to make them available together in the future.
- In order to see artists, you’ll need to add the artist to My TIDAL instead of the album. Adding the album only places it in the albums view, but does not add the artist to the artists view. The behavior is the same in the official TIDAL app.
- That’s a bug that I’ll raise internally. It should remember the last view you used. Good catch!
You can disable online features you don’t want to see in your account settings as described in the " Hiding the TIDAL Music Source" section here: https://support.plex.tv/articles/an-intro-to-tidal-with-plex/
Thanks for the pointer. Didn’t see/know that
To be as straight foreward as possible. To make this a killer feature for me and I guess many others. Implement the download functionality tide offers in a way where the songs we synch get stored at our database.
This way the core of our community which cares about their server and content get support and on the same time the “one app for any content”-concept improves.
I posted this on the blog announcement as well, but it is a shame that the android auto version of PLEX app doesn’t share the same rich experience as the native Android Plex app does , esp. with this new service.
It’s nice that the Artist page shows albums not in our libraries, but those Tidal albums are not integrated in the library in any other way. The Tidal albums should be seamlessly integrated with our Plex server so that there’s not discernible difference between what is a locally hosted file vs a Tidal music file.
There is no “Add to Library” option, only an add to “My Tidal” which is essentially a separate Tidal-only library which kind of defeats the purpose. For now, its almost just like a nicely integrated way to remind you what albums you dont already have downloaded to your own Plex server.
