About a week ago, Plex stopped finding names/images/tags for no reason, so I decided to upgrade the NAS and Plex to the latest version.
Got the official packages and updated and all seemed fine. Access locally is fine. There were no changes at all to any configurations, just upgrades.
Now there is no access from the Internet at all.
When trying to grant library access, I get “You don’t have any connected servers.”
Port forwarding is set up properly, logged in at plex and on the server and on the client.
Authorized devices shows:
PlexMediaServer
22 hours ago 1.1
Plex Media Server
DS923+
I also show:
" Fully accessible outside your network
You can access this server from signed-in Plex apps or in a browser at https://app.plex.tv/desktop."
under remote access, but this is not the case - nothing on the website and nothing for remote clients.
If you’re trying to access it through the “Quick Connect” – don’t.
Package center will show you the LAN IP when QuickConnect is off.
If it’s showing you a synology domain then don’t use that button,
Open the Syno by it’s LAN IP address instead. (you don’t want to be routed out to some other provider for this stage)
Right, all of these motions have been executed. I don’t understand why plex.tv says i’m fully accessible outside the network, but I’m not - even on the website. and no other users (or me on mobile) can access the server in any capacitiy. These kind of errors are extremely frustrating due to ther being no apparent cause or clue. Thanks for trying to help!
I just looked at the account you’re using here in the forums.
There is no Plex server attached to this email address.
Are you using another account?
I was going to give you some info to help diagnose where the problem is.
The things which can go wrong:
What you think is your IP address (what your modem/router shows) and whatsmyip.org and plex.tv see – can be different dependent on the ISP
More common is the moden/router is not forwarding (forwarding rule, virtual server rule, some type of rule, which NAT translates the outside port number and sends all traffic to YourSeverLANIP:32400 (tcp protocol)
The Synology firewall might be active but not have a rull which allows port 32400 to enter the NAS.
