Server Version#: 1.23.0.4497
Player Version#: Plex web 4.56.4
When browsing in plex web, if I switch between Library and Collections in my TV libraries, it appropriately shows either TV or Collections.
In my movies library however, both tabs act like different configurations of the same movie view, with collections only showing if I select sort by Title.
The URL does successfully switch between &pivot=collections and &pivot=library when I switch.
This has been going on for months now, across many versions of Plex, and I keep expecting a new update to fix it as I am aware I’m on a beta channel, but so far I’ve seen no mention of it elsewhere.
This might be a hint that it is something specific to your system and web browser.
I cannot reproduce this issue.
Which web browser?
Are there any browser add-ins installed and activated?
Are any other ways of filtering internet content in use, like proxies, DNS filters?
Is there a VPN in use?
It’s common across my home pc in chrome and a fresh install of firefox, my work pc both at home and in the office and on my phone in chrome both via WiFi and over mobile data. Just to make extra sure I also tried it in Safari on my Mac.
I have also tried using Plex web as served from the server (https://serverip:32400/web) rather than app.plex.tv.
I’m guessing it must be something awry in my database. I’ll create a new movies library with the same paths and see if that has the same issue. The only problem there is that my existing library has over 400 manually curated collections with custom artwork etc. I’d ideally not like to lose that work as it represents a lot of hours of curation.
I’m having exactly the same problem and only on my Plex for Windows App (downloaded from Media Server Downloads | Plex Media Server for Windows, Mac, Linux, FreeBSD and More). On my iPad Plex it looks fine.
No idea what’s causing it, but it basically renders my Windows App unusable. When filtering the library by collection, it still detects the proper collections, it’s just the collection view that wrongly looks like the library view. This clearly is a bug (or at least unexpected behavior). This also happened without any reason. Worked fine until it didn’t.
Thanks in advance for helping.
So in my case I simply deleted the old library and continued with the new one. I’m not sure I’ll bother manually curating new collections now. I’ll just stick with the (inferior) TMDB ones.
@OttoKerner thank you for your help, and to answer your question both the old and new (working) library use the new Plex Movie agent (and scanner)
Hi,
I am having he same issue now.
Version 1.23.4.4712
Plex web Version 4.60.3
My movie library view seems to have an issue. The library tab and the collection tab looks same rather then showing collections in collections tab it is a exact reflection of library tab. Can someone help me how can I resolve this.
Hi @tom80H thanks for replying, I tried resetting, it didn’t work. it definitely looks like an error. The same library has no issue in another managed user account. it is happening only in movies library in my account. Rest of the libraries are working fine.
I can manually search the collections but not able to see them in collections tab.
I noticed this today as well on all my MacOS machines, the Movie Collections Tab just looks like the Library Tab. I think its a bug that will need to be fixed. I can still access the Collections Tab in a Browser for now though.
