I had a downloaded a higher quality version of a show and replaced the old files and updated my plex library. I noticed that plex wasn’t matching one of the seasons because the MP4 title tag was overriding the naming. the version of the show I had had some mislabeled episodes and so i re downloaded a corrected series and replaced the media files. all is almost well except that the old filenames from the forced MP4 details still show instead of a correct title match for the new media.
to replace the media files, i moved them, then emptied the trash, moved the new media files in and updated the library.
any ideas on how to clear plex’s database entirely for this one series so i can start fresh?
