After digging through the forums I finally found the solution to my problem. The funny thing is, this seems like a fairly well known fix to a well known problem, but is difficult to troubleshoot by searching the forums because of so many different types of metadata issues. Would have been nice if someone could have chimed in to help....Hope this helps DarkSteel
If you've been hit by this problem, you can resolve it by taking the following steps:
Quit the media server by selecting the Plex icon in your Mac's menu bar, and choosing "Quit" from the drop-down menu.
Open the folder "/Users/(username)/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins" in Finder.
Delete "Framework.bundle", and "System.bundle" or move them to the trash.

Within the last couple weeks, I'm also having the same problem. It seems to have started spontaneously. I tried your fix, but unfortunately I'm still not getting any metadata for recently added movies or shows. Any other suggestions?
EDIT: Never mind, I did it again and now stuff's getting picked up. Thanks!

This doesn't solve mine UNTIL I forced refresh. Thank you. Now I can sleep. :)
About 3 days ago my metadata stopped getting downloaded for new shows. I tried the steps in Powertowerpro's post and did a force refresh but it didn't seem to work. Anyone else running into this? Any suggestions for things to try?
[Update: Ok I did the force refresh again and I think it's working this time, sorry for the forum clutter.]
Just a quick question, after the latest updates my issue is as follows :
For some strange reason i had to delete my PMS and PHT in order to get the trailer feature working properly. i have a few folders Movies 1/2 Bluray etc. Now when PMS did the original scan no problems all cover art etc showing.
When it came to some of my folders ie Movies 1 is seems to have only got an image from the movie (random scene) for the life of me i do not know how this has happened.
The only fix i found for this was to go into each movie PMS and click "fix incorrect match" the all is ok cover art showing with extra's, to be honest do not really want to have to go through each movie and do this.
Would this be a fix and did you guy's have the same problem.
I am having the same problem. My scanning agents disappear from PMS settings, and custom search settings and even adding a new library. I stop Plex, delete the two .bundles and start again. Things work normally for a couple of minutes, then the agents go awol again.
Does this have to do with the fact that I'm on OSX 10.7.5?
The only way I get metadata to work on my TV shows is to use iFlicks. See below. The first two processed with iFlicks - same files, same filenames, etc. - the last 8 haven't been. Ran them through iFlicks and now they have the correct metadata, too. If I just rely on Plex, it doesn't work. I tried the answer above, twice, once with deleting the entire show and re-adding it, and nothing works.

If you’ve been hit by this problem, you can resolve it by taking the following steps:
Quit the media server by selecting the Plex icon in your Mac’s menu bar, and choosing “Quit” from the drop-down menu.
Open the folder “/Users/(username)/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins” in Finder.
Delete “Framework.bundle”, and “System.bundle” or move them to the trash.
Restart Plex Media Server.
When I access this folder the only other folder is Services.bundle - is something going wrong here? I’m having the exact issue described but can’t seem to find the fault.
