So, I have a strange one, my plex stopped working yesterday morning and am not sure why:
Configuration (no changes to anything overnight):
-hardware - QNAP TVS-873 with latest production firmware loaded (4.3.6.0923) and Static IP
-Plex (latest public version) running on the QNAP utilizing standard port (32400) and working fine in this configuration for over a year
-Internet - GB service through Xfinity
-firewall - Netgear Orbi mesh on latest firmware, no special routing or VLAN’s used.
Timeline:
-Last night plex working fine
-this morning (no changes/updates overnight) Plex not working for appleTV’s in house (or anything as it turned out)
-Restart service on QNAP - No help
-Restart QNAP - No help
-checked common things - No help
(Ok, here’s where it gets weird)
-My QNAP has HDMI out (So you could use it in a theater setup) , hooked up an HDMI cable to a monitor…and Plex Home Theater is actually working (local on the QNAP), was able to watch a show.
-Rolled back a version PlexMediaServer-1.15.3.876-ad6e39743-x86_64 & Restarted Plex - no help
Bottom line:
-Plex is working and can be viewed through local HDMI (Hybrid Deskststion)
-Plex not working VIA any WAN or LAN
-QNAP is pingable
I assume it’s something maybe in firewall or routing since it works within the QNAP, but DDNS hasn’t changed and port 32400/443/80 are open when I go to https://canyouseeme.org/ and check those ports.
What else should I be checking? I’m stuck…any thoughts?
