PMS suddenly shows issues with remote access 9/30/2021 10AM EST

I don´t think that´s the issue. I have quite a few Servers running with a lot of Websites and the certificate renewals are just running fine. I also tested it already and the Let´s Encrypt API is answering quite fast.

Unraid plex docker from the plexinc repository (no updates available)
Version 1.24.4.5081.
No Remote access still. Sometimes when i manually retry it says its available, and when i switch pages and go back its unavailable again.

im in the netherlands.

Yeah, do they think this is resolved or is this just some technical detail? Do they have a Twitter or something?

Interesting… my personal website uses LetsEncrypt and it works fine - no cert errors showing. Good to know you’re seeing the same

I have no idea sorry. I can’t believe they don’t have a support email / phone number, for a service you pay for. It’s like “just post it here”. Maybe I’m looking at it wrong but I am surprised.

Here´s the Link: https://status.plex.tv/incidents/gnyhnsx1wfnt

They believe … yes … believe that this issue has something to do with the LE load. And I don´t believe it, cause on my Servers etc. LE is working just fine without any problems.

I´m literally pissed at the moment that they just closed the issue with this reason …

I am surprised they claim the incident has been resolved. The issue is still very much there…

Me too! And the best part is, you can’t even contact them because there’s no email / phone number like any normal company!

Interestingly, a friend of mine uses PMS on Win10, with fire stick 4K’s to access. They are working fine remotely - he’s currently in the middle of nowhere on holiday

Do you think the issue is limited to Linux / BSD? I haven’t had time to spin up a Windows plex server to test

My PMS is running on Windows Server 2019 Datacenter … so … no … that´s not limited to *nix/BSD.

Windows server 1.24.3.5033

I’m having this issue aswell shows as not available outside of my network.

Does anyone know if there’s a way of “poking” Plex with this one? Clearly they’re living in a land of non expired certificates and happy customers, but I can’t find an email etc to speak to them. There’s a form for if you want to buy plex though, interestingly

I’m probably still affected of this issue even though it is reported as “resolved”. I’m also suddenly getting the " Not available outside your network" even though noting in my environment have changed. Checked and double checked NAT/forwarding, pfBlocker, firewall, access logs, connection states ( from plex remote check ip’s: https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/plex-sidekiq-servers-list/sidekiqIPs.txt ) and all seems OK. The check originates from the correct ip, hits the correct port and is routed to the correct internal ip but something in the handshake is not correctly carried out and so the check fails.

Sounds very much like the “fixed” issue to me.

No, there isnt. Which is frustrating

Mine goosed as well… also suddenly cant play some content on Samsung TV’s but ok on apple and web-browser… weird…

Mine is a Windows Plex Server… I even went so far as to build a new server on another VM to chase the issue(s) down… all still the same…

This has nothing to do with the “Remote connection” Problem mentioned in this thread.

To get yout Samsung TV Plex App working again you need to take a look here:

Hi everyone, read through, and same here really. I can’t determine if it’s plex server or openpht that has broken. If it’s openpht, is there a way to update or insert new certificates past 30/9 as I know its not in development anymore. Really frustrated and stuck…

3 Samsung TV’s 1 x 2016 cant connect. so could be that issue… the other two are 6 months old… they play come content but not others… really weird.

I’m an old school engineer… no smoke without fire… problem all started at the same time…

ok… update… the non secure connection fix sorted the older samsung… just trying the newer boxes…

Yup… that’s confirmed… Brand New Samsung TV’s are having random issues on certain content and turning off secure connections fixes it!! that’s just bonkers!!

Mine is still broken, I can’t enable remote access in PMS, running the latest version

I’ve just seen there’s a way of setting a custom domain and adding your own certificate path to plex. I’m wondering if I buy a cheapo cert off of Namecheap or similar, and publish my own domain, if it’ll work.

The thing is, you really shouldn’t have to! Get on with fixing it plex…

What’s the best way to shout up about this? Do we tweet them or something? They just seem to be in a world of their own

I’m in the same boat. The server (as well as Tautulli) are reporting the server to not being available. There seem to be small spots of a few seconds when the server is remotely available again (at least according to Tautulli’s push up notifications), but as soon as I take a look at the web ui, it seems to be down again. I already checked my whole network as well as the “*.plex.direct” certificate provided by Plex, and everything seems to be fine.

It’s really frustrating, that the status was just changed to “resolved” and noone from the Plex team is providing any information on this issue anymore.
I fully understand, that they are probably busy fixing it, but c’mon…don’t leave us alone.
Talk to us or at least update the status page with useful information.
