PMS suddenly shows issues with remote access 9/30/2021 10AM EST

Well, I did setup my own certificate for my own hostname of the server. But that doesn´t solve the problem with the Remote Access showing not available.

All my iOS devices are working but my LG TV not. It started yesterday evening during the outage and still can’t turn on remote access on my server. The remote availability status on the console is flipping during page reloads.

It drives me crazy and don’t know is there any workaround or something, or Plex plan to fix it soon.

Regarding this please check out the following link. There you will find a solution for your LG TV: Important information about Plex for smart TVs after September 30, 2021

The outage is a different problem with a false notification of remote access not available.

It isn’t a false notification

I have multiple devices and users unable to access the server remotely.

There are various threads on this issue that as yet is not resolved.

Could be good catch, unfortunately I am using webOS 5.10.25, so as per the linked document states, my TV is still supported…

Got the same issue here as well (on windows) at first I thought it was a problem at my side but I guess all I can do now is wait…

Well, yes … and no. It says: “Remote connection unavailable”. … but in fact, for my server, it is remote connectable. All my clients are connecting to my server without any problem. Playback etc. works also fine, but still … my server says: “Remote connection not available” …

It seems that some people are having problems and some people are only having these message.

Not easy to say, but it is indeed a problem that must be solved and this must be solved by plex itself as in my opinion it has nothing to do with the high load of the LE API.

So it’s not a false notification across the board.

Thanks.

Is it actually fine, or are they stuck at the 2mbps Plex relay speed?

I’m working through Plex relay, but the direct connection is still down with the same cert error.

Well, my Clients can Direct Play without going through the Relay. Just to let you know: My server is located in a Datecenter. So i´m always doing a remote connection to stream.

For anybody trying to resolve this locally for their RASPLEX based client setup have a look here >> No more access to plex server · Issue #645 · RasPlex/RasPlex · GitHub

That’s literally the same error message posted numerous times in this thread.

Yep, and it is still not working. I hope the guys at Plex are aware of this

It is very rare because some LG clients can connect and others cannot, as well as some Samsung clients who can and others cannot.
It started yesterday evening during the outage and still can’t turn on remote access on my server. The remote availability status on the console is flipping during page reloads.

I already checked the update that happened yesterday, September 30, but I continue to have clients with compatible devices that cannot access

I have been using Plex on my Linux server and I have never spent so much time without remote connection, I already made sure that port 32400 is 100% open.

Same here…

LG TV with WebOS v. 05.40.09 cannot connect at all without changing Settings - Advanced - Allow Insecure Connections to Always from Plex app. So clearly v. 5 is also affected.

Does anyone know if this effectively killed OpenPHT? I know it was out of date but I had it running on an android box (and an odroid c2) and it was still the best solution for direct playing every format with no transcoding. And even though it’s wired directly to the same network as my server, it no longer sees my content. Will the fix eventually make it able to authenticate again or are those of us still using it screwed?
Could never find a version of PMP that works on an s905x android box, though if anyone knows of one, point me in the right direcfion!

Still facing issues here too… C’mon Plex, what’s going on?

If I turn everything to its opposite and disable the secure thingy everywhere, it sometime works but not that stable.

But yes, better than secure solution…

nada, a mi me pasa lo mismo, se han tenido que caer los servidores de plex.
Les esta afectando a todo los usuarios.
Espero que se resuelva pronto
