I’m still having the same issue. Looks like remote access is working through a relay and all sessions are transcoding at a lower rate instead of direct play.
Yeah this is still not fixed. It says remote access is not working correctly on the Plex server side.
I had the same issue with OpenPHT breaking yesterday. Fixed it by following the link posted above by [sdsodin]
Same issue here.
Most of us prefer not to have to use unsecured networks …
Next morning and remote connections still aren’t functioning as they should. I’ve tried restarting the server, and router – nothing helps. On the rare occasion, if I get something to play it gets transcoded and will not direct play. For the sake of clarity, I hope Plex updates their metrics because this is not fixed and is going on 16-17 hours of straight downtime. Come on, Team Plex…
I have heard nothing officall from them, about this. I hope it gets resolved soon.
Started with my 2018 Samsung TV not finding the Plex Server last night (30Sep21). All else worked fine, including other TVs and PCs on the same network. Overnight, problem has become far worse. The Ubuntu PC running the server cannot itself even see the server, and nothing on the same network has any access to it. Apart from this forum thread, is there any official Plex announcement about this? Acknowledgement of the problem would be nice, and an estimated time on a fix would be appreciated. Love Plex - this shows me how much I use it
This is a killer outage heading into the weekend, my busy time for remote access. Agreed, it would be nice if Plex acknowledged the issue.
Certainly not “Resolved”
@ChuckPa Is there any update on this? I see some activity in another similar thread, but could use some confirmation.
Indeed
But sill no response or news from Plex regarding this…
My issues are not remote connections, though, so I think there’s several problems going on here… but thank you for posting this link
Thanks for pointing me here - Im new to the forum, and has flagged the other post for removal
@ChuckPa already said in another post, that the team is aware of the problem and working on it.
I think, we should all just give them some time to fix it.
Suddenly at 14:40 GMT it all works again. My local machines and TVs find my server and play, and remote access works too. THANK YOU PLEX!!
up and running
I am on ubuntu, so i stopped the plexmediaserver process, and then tried to restart. But it wouldn’t restart, so I rebooted and - bam! - there it is, working again.
Mine just started working again…
