This works well on the desktop but is there any way to get this section to show up in the iOS app?
guy, until proper solution is available, how do you deal with this issue? ie. watching adult contents with plex.
specifically, i have lg tv and using medialink/plex client with all movies (adult and normal) stored in a NAS running plex server.
please share… thanks
Yes Please.
Parental control / xxx hidden section
It’s an importand feature for media players. Why still not implemented?
+1 here.
Really important feature! Not only for adult movies, but also for photos and even music. There are some kind of musics out there that just cannot be left for kids (CeeLo Green “forget you”, for example).
I hope next version has this implemented, and that it doesn’t take long…
Not only to restricted areas, but also to the admin part of the manager/new web client…
My Kid is 15, and a Mac Freak…If I lock him down, He’ll take it as a challenge
+1, just a simple password to start with. Doesn’t have to be hacker proof. Would at least keep the younger crowd away while the devs work on a more secure solution.
Is this on the current release of Plex? If so I must be daft, I can't figure out where the video plugins section is.
+1 When I have family over It would be nice to show them how to use the media server with out them wondering about/looking at the the X Movies section. a simple password for revealing hidden content would be nice and having multiple passwords for multiple levels of access would be ideal.
I cant +1 this enough
This gets a vote from me too. Why it is not planned yet? Plex is a great way to view all media, but not all is suitable for children.
A huge +1. It has to be universal indeed, not just on Mac. I'm mainly using Plex Web, iOS and Android apps.
+1 from me too

+1 - Setting a pin for any content over a certain rating would be a good start, then anything over PG-13, for example, would require the pin, but also ability to assign a pin at a library level.

Big fat +1 on this one. With young kids (4 and 2), they are learning how to navigate the remote and I want to restrict PG13 and R rated movies. Simple password control on libraries will do the trick as we, parents, control where content is located (path/server/partition).

Looking at this thread, this has been a "planned feature" for almost two and a half years, and in that time, not a single person has presented any reason it shouldn't have been implemented years ago.
Plex is thus far the only personal media streaming solution for the Ouya console, and looks to be the best available for the Android platform entire, and maybe even for Apple or Windows. This could make Plex the "face" of streaming as far as journalists and regulators are concerned.
A lot of such devices are being given to children, including my own, and the vast majority of people buying into these platforms and services grew up expecting both easy access to R, NC-17 and XXX content, and the means to keep children from that access(or the means to say we tried...). Heck, TV's have had V-chips for 13 years, and broadcast doesn't sink to the depths you'll find in the average media collection, I assure you.
Why does anyone still think this feature is optional?
+1! Pretty please!

Whats the hold up here?
